SOURCE: lighter stopped working,

The Cigarette lighter is run off of a 20A fuse located in the engine compartment just behind the battery. The fuse map will say P-Out and is in position #14. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: I would like a diagram

Hi, the ECM B fuse powers the ECM and the fuel pump. It's hard to say where the ECM power is used, since it appears as a black box in the schematic. The fuse box or owner's manual may indicate circuits that the fuse powers thru the ECM. If you find you need additional diagrams, please let me know and please specify if you have the VIN W (central point injection) or the VIN Z (throttle body injection) engine.

SOURCE: Why did my radio and my cig. lighter stopped working?

I wish I had a dollar for every time I have heard "All fuses are OK" or "I already checked the fuse" or "I know it's not the fuse"....I'd be a rich man!

When cigarette lighters quit working, 99% of the time the fuse is blown because someting got plugged into it like a defective phone charger. The other 1% of the time, it is because the lighter element is burned out or somebody essed with the wires to the cigarette lighter trying to install some kind of aftermarket equipment.

Humor me and check Fuse #9 (20 Amp) in the passenger side fuse and relay box.

Abs light

Sounds like you shorted out the cig lighter which can also power other circuits. Have you checked the cig lighter fuse ?

Looking for the cigarette lighter fuse

Check all fused related to audio, dome light or instrument cluster. Try plugging a cellphone charger into the socket for cig lighter, if this works then you need a new cig lighter.

The cig lighter is probably part of the circuit tied to radio instrument cluster or dome lights, if any of those are out too, then it is likely a bad fuse or bad ground. Look for corresponding fuse and kill 2 birds with one stone hopefully by replacing the faulty fuse.

If you locate and replace a faulty fuse and the problem persists, you may have a bad ground. This is a bit more involved. I would guess by your question that you will need to have someone service it for you.

No power to heat and ac module

The most common problem is a coin or other metallic object falling into the cig lighter and shorting things out. Be certain you do not still have a penny in the bottom of the cig lighter socket. On mine, I just kept blowing fuses until I found it.

Radio fuse keeps blowing

make sure nothing in cig lighter socket..coins,etc..if nothing present, unplug cig lighter socket and replace fuse..if fuse doesn't blow,it's the socket causing fault..if it does, unplug radio, plug cig lighter back in and replace fuse..if fuse doesn't blow, radio is cause of fault..if it does, then ther is short in wiring

1991 s10 pickup radio and cig. lighter shrts out

You need to replace the lighter socket. Both of my 1988 S10's had the same problem after a few years of using my cell phone battery charger in the lighter plug. I replaced it 10 years ago and it has been fine ever since. Something in the original socket wears out and causes it to short out when something is plugged in. Good luck!
