SOURCE: 2003 Toyota Sienna - Need to replace left rear brake light

Hi -
I just replaced my left rear brake light on my 2005 Sienna. I followed the manual directions and removed the two metal bolts from the tail light cover. However the assembly did not come off. I could open it a little and it appeared to be bolted from the inside. I looked online but didn't find an answer. I had already gotten pulled over and I didn't want to go to the dealer so I pulled on the assembly a little harder applying even pressure to the top and the bottom and it popped loose. I didn't yank it. There are two metal pegs that have a little lip on them and thats where you are getting the resistance. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: left rear tail lights/ blinker will not come on

Blinker too fast, the same side blinker light bulb on the front (or back) is burned. Check the fuses for the rear lights. You might have a light bulb filament stuck.

Turn signal not working

TAIL LIGHT NOT WORKING

It can be faulty tail light bulb or its issue with tail light control switch or its wiring's are short.

Check the voltage at fuse slot of tail light.Do you receive 12 volt there. If not, then it says tail light switch is not receiving power supply.

How can I take off the tail light assembly to replace the bulb for the left tu

Open the trunk. In the left corner where the lamp assembly is, you should see two screw covers that cover the screws holding in the lamp assembly.

12_5_2012_6_45_21_pm.jpg

Remove these covers to find the screws, and unscrew them to pull the taillamp assembly out of the vehicle body. Disconnect the lamp wiring harness, turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to pull out the socket, revealing the light bulb. Then pull the bulb right out of the socket and replace it with a new bulb.

Replace the socket, turning it clockwise. Replace the taillight assembly. Check that the taillamp assembly tab, located at the bottom of the taillamp assembly, is aligned to the facia bracket before securing the screws.
12_5_2012_6_46_06_pm.jpg

Screw the taillamp assembly back into the vehicle body and replace the screw covers. Check to make sure the new bulb works properly.

Your owners manual specifies that the rear left turn lamp is a lamp with bulb number 3057K. You should be able to find them at any automotive store or from your dealer. Hope this helps.
