SOURCE: on a 2006 chevy impala it tells you to tighten the gas cap

There is no sensor for a loose gas cap. What is happening is that the evaporative emission system is sensing a "Large Leak". Usually code p0455. The computer sees this as the most probable cause is a loose gas cap depending on several factors it looks at. You would need to clear the code(s) and see if that was the problem. If the light comes back on, then you have a problem in the system that will not let it seal. Possible solenoid problem, leaking hose / line, etc.

Location of MAP sensor on 2006 Saturn view 2.2 L

The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor on a 2006 Saturn View 2.2 L is located on top of the cylinder head, right side, about 2/3 of the way back. There is one screw holding it in. You will need to take off the plastic engine cover off to access it. The sensor in the airbox is the MAF sensor. Mass Airflow Sensor.

Where is the map sensor located on the car?

The 2006 Impala has 3 different motor options, on the 3.5 the map
sensor is located on the rear(left side of motor) of the upper
intake manifold under the black bracket that the spark plug wires
are routed over. You have to remove the two upper intake manifold
bolts to remove it. The bolts have a torque spec of 18 lb ft, and a
small amount of thread locker is recommended by GM after
reinstalling them.

Does a 2001 chevy impala come with a map sensor or just a mass air flow sensor ?

They have both. If you have a 3.1/3.4L, the map sensor is located at the rear of the engine compartment directly beside the ignition coils. If you have a 3.8L, I believe it is located at the front of the engine (right side of engine bay).

Need to locate map sensor

In most Chevys during that timeline, the MAP sensor was located on the ring that connects the intake manifold to the large black air box. There should be a sensor with 3-wired pigtail connected to it located somewhere between the air box and intake. SOMETIMES, not all the time, these sensors have acronyms that when broken down, will give us an idea where to look. Manifold Air Pressure sensor helps us narrow the location down in this case.
