Check throttle position sensor output voltage(i think it is the green wire on sensor plug. you can slid a straightened paper clip in beside wire. turn key on, engine Not running, as you move the accelerator voltage should increase. at no accel. it should be around .5 volts and it should increase as you press accelerator. all the way should be above 4 volts. move accelerator real slow, if there is a spot when voltage goes away, sensor is bad.
SOURCE: will not stay running
I had the same problem with Tribute 2002, it starts then stops. it will keep running as long as you press the gas pedal, no engine check light was on. I changed the Idle Air Control about 3-4 weeks and so for it is running fine.
SOURCE: idles fine but stalls when i give it gas?
Hi jkeefer,
I'd suggest you check the air flow sensor

Check your o2 sensor voltage, those trucks are real bad for o2 sensors, and yes if one sensor is reading 0mv, the others will start to drop out, and the vehicle will run very, rough. You also may check fuel system pressure, should be almost 60p.s.i. If its alot lower, Id be looking into a fuel pump. If that vehicle is drive-by-wire (no throttle cable), the throttle bodies get very dirty and cause that concern also. Id start by having the vehicle scantested.

I put a new fuel pump, fuel filter, and a fuel pump relay and the fuel pump is still not coming on. I am not getting any fuel. Can you please tell me what it might be.
SOURCE: runs great, put in gear stalls
You have some kind of sensor bad. Get it checked by a pro ; - )
