If you're finding it difficult to service/repair your car, get one of those online manuals. You'll not have to wait for others to
answer, or rely on mechanics and all. Plus I know a website that has very good manuals online, without expiry i.e. for lifetime.

SOURCE: 98 gmc jimmy front hub

1. Put the vehicle in gear, apply the parking brake and break loose the driveaxle/hub nut with a socket and large breaker bar.
2. Loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle and support is securely on lackstands. Remove the wheel. Remove the driveaxle/hub nut.
3. Unbolt the brake caliper and hang it out of the way with wire. Remove the brake disc.
4. On models with four wheel ABS, trace the electrical lead for the wheel speed sensor along the upper control arm, then forward along the frame rail and unplug the electrical connector.
5. Remove the hub assembly-to-steering knuckle bolts. Remove the brake disc shield and wheel speed sensor assembly and set aside.
6. Tap the hub assembly from side-to-side to break it loose from the steering knuckle. Pull the hub assembly off the end of the driveaxle. Wrap the end of the driveaxle with a rag to prevent damaging it. If the hub is stuck on the splines on the end of the driveaxle, use a puller to free it.
7. Installation is reverse of removal process. Be sure to lubricate the driveaxle splines with multi-purpose grease, and tighten all of the fasteners to the proper torque.

SOURCE: how do i bypass security on 98 gmc jimmy 4.3

Hi: Sounds to me like you tried to start the vehicle with something disconnected in the security system. If this is the case the solution is simple. Put key in ignition and turn to the on position, leave on for EXACTLY 30 minutes... then take key out, wait 5 minutes then start vehicle. Hope this helps... please rate suggestion... ty

SOURCE: How do you get to the heater core in a 98 GMC Jimmy?

THE STEERING COLUMN (DO NOT ROTATE THE STEERING WHEEL AFTER THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT IS REMOVE, YOU WILL BREAK THE SIR COIL), WINDSHIELD MOLDINGS, AND DASH HAVE TO BE REMOVED FIRST. UNDER THE HOOD THE BLOWER RESISTOR, R/H INNER FENDER WELL, HEATER HOSES TO THE HEATER CORE AND SEVERAL NUTS AND BOLTS HOLDING THE HEATER PLENUM TO THE FIRE WALL INCLUDING THE HIDDEN BOLT UNDER THE BLOWER RESISTOR IN THE EVAPORATOR CORE AREA. THEN FINALLY THE BOLTS ON THE INSIDE OF THE TRUCK HOLDING THE PLENUM TO THE FIREWALL.

NO DISRESPECT INTENDED BUT IF YOUR NOT A TALENTED MECHANIC I WOULD FIND ONE OR HIRE ONE THAT CAN DO THE JOB FOR YOU. THIS IS QUITE INVOLVED FOR A NOVICE.

Where is my relay and fuse location at for the day time running lights on a 1997 oldsmobile aurora

There is not a separate fuse nor is there a relay ,A LCM - lamp control module controls the DRL .
the lamp control module (LCM) supplies battery positive voltage (B+) through the DRL resistor to the low beam headlamps. The voltage drop across the DRL resistor causes the low beam headlamps to light at a reduced intensity. The DRL are disabled if the high beam headlamps are on or if the gear selector is placed in the PARK position. When the ambient light sensor indicates darkness, the low beams automatically switch to regular intensity.

97 gmc jimmy, need help locating the headlight relay under the hood? Fuses good, everything except headlights?

Excluding drl and fog lamps, there is no relay. The voltage to headlamp switch, hot all the time, I didn't check for fusible links? The voltage from headlamp switch goes to dimmer switch then to headlamps, at the headlamps check voltage and ground. My info showed sealed beam or quad lamps, I didn't look at both.

Where is the DRL relay located?

There is no DRL relay , has a lamp control module .
The daytime running lamps (DRL) activate under the following conditions:
?€¢
The ignition switch is in the RUN position.

?€¢
The ambient light sensor indicates daylight.

?€¢
The vehicle is not in the PARK position.

When the above conditions are met, the lamp control module (LCM) supplies battery positive voltage (B+) to the low beam headlamps through CKT 589 (GRY), the DRL resistor, and CKT 12 (TAN). The DRL resistor reduces the voltage supplied by the LCM. The low beam headlamps light at a reduced intensity. The DRL disable if the vehicle is placed in the PARK position. When the ambient light sensor indicates darkness, the low beam headlamps automatically switch from a reduced intensity to a regular intensity.

2001 GMC Jimmy-DRL do not work, headlights work when manually turned on. Tried owners manuel suggestions (press dome overide button three times in 6 seconds) did not help.

This may be oversimplified, many times both of the DRL lamps are burnt out. Many people don't notice till the second bulb fails. Pull out one of the headlamps and verify condition of bulb.

On my 1998 GMC Jimmy, I have disabled the DRLS by pulling the "DRL" relay. But now, when I initiate my brights, only the right side will come on.

on these vehicles you cannot disable the drl by pulling the relay, the system works throught a ground loop relay controlled by the bcm, you can try a separate ground to the right headlight
