If the engine displacement is the same then it will work, although you will have to change "ALL" electronic components on the engines from the 2000 engine to the 1997 engine as these components will be different. If you do not change them you will have several different problems. Most car manufacturers change their electronics year to year and sometimes even mid-year.

It really depends on what is failing. If the compressor is locking up internally, it may be caused by debris in the ac system, or the compressor may not be installed correctly.
Too much or too little freon, too much or too little oil, and so on.

It sounds like you have a bad motor or transmission mount. Open your hood, and have a friend start your vehicle, and put it into drive. Observe the engine to see what is vibrating.

The window motor sounds like it quit working. Test the window motor by grounding it and putting 12v to it with a jumper wire and see if it works. If nothing happens, replace the motor.

Your describing symptoms of a bad Idle Air Control (IAC) motor. It's mounted on the top of the motor near where the intake tube enters. Does this have the 4.0L V6?

You have to remove your glove box and it is behind there. Here is a picture of where it is. This particular picture is from a 4 X 4 so if you don't have that it won't have the 4X4 part. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for using FixYa!
