There is NO way to disable anti-theft. It wouldn't be called anti-theft if you could disable it.

I just had this same problem with a '96 . do you have a vats key in your '94? you need to bypass the VATS system. read some of the blogs on this site and it will tell you how to do it. I fixed mine with a $2 resistor from radio shack.

If the antitheft system is armed and isn't recognizing the key for starting, the dealer should be the next place it should be towed for reprogramming the key to the computer.

SOURCE: my battery cable came undone and now my car wont start i know it has something to do with my anti theft system how do i reset it or whatever i just need to get my car started.

Hello Jaclyn...Look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle (valet)
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition key, press and hold in the button (little spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride the system, and only the keyless entry part, if installed, would still be operating....The LED light in the dash should also go on solid....At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If this had a starter kill relay installed it would now be opened, and the engine would turn over when tried.

You would repeat these steps to go back to user mode to see if this was corrected...i hope this information is helpful...Happy Holidays.

My Nissan Altima 2005 I need to disconnect the anti theft system so I can start my car

Anti theft system is built into your car's Engine Control Module. It cannot be disabled according to everything I've read in the Nissan forums.

Nissan key trouble

Unfortunately, the keys have an anti-theft chip in their bodies that communicates with the car's system.
Try Googling ("Nissan/car key programming" for a cheaper price or phone independent garages. The keys can probably only be done by an authorized Nissan dealer. Also, phone locksmiths for their opinion.

DTC P1612 is a NATS (Nissan Anti Theft System) code.
Cycle the key ON for a second than OFF for 10 do this until the security light goes out.

If not you will have to key the key reprogrammed.

My friend replaced the positive terminal cable on her 2005 nissan altima with a positive terminal cable from the factory and now the car won't start at all. There is power to all the fuses and the battery...

Hello.
It is very likely that the terminal is fine. Many vehicle owners are not aware that the newer factory installed anti-theft systems will lock down the car, ( prevent it from starting ), if the battery is disconnected for more than just a couple of minutes. In the future if you need to disconnect the battery, make sure that you dis-arm the anti-theft system first

You should be able to find out how to dis-arm/over-ride the anti-theft system in your owners manual.

I hope this helps you.

2005 Nissan Altima. Engine will crack but car won't start. Could it be anti theft? And how can you check it and resolve the problem? The diagnostic code came up as it blinked 10 times slow and 3 times...

This is a 2005 the codes are more than that, that type of checking can not be done on this year, these codes are more like this po1255, you would need a scan tool to check the codes and you may be right it could be the anti theft but if it were the car would start for about 3 seconds and die out but if its not starting then you may have anoyher problem, there are many autopart stores that would scan it for free but you would need to bring them the car, the codes would tell you what the problem would be, for example it would say crank sensor voltage, and with a little testing you would be able to know if it was the sensor or a wire, try spraying starting fluid into throtlebody and then try to start car if it runs for a few seconds and dies then you know its fuel problem and may be the fuelpump, hope this is helpful.
