My right side low-beam headlight does not turn on. Only the high beam does. Checked the fuse and it seems fine. The same fuse box where the low-beam fuse is contains some relays but can't tell if the headlight relay is in there. Is it underneath the dashboard near the knob that turns the headlights on/off? UPDATE: Turns out it was the bulb all along. Since it is a dual filament bulb it is possible for the high beams to work while the low beams do not. Swapped the bulb and we're back in business! Thanks for the insight!
Hope this helps a little. There are fuses for left and right lo beams, did you use a test light and check voltage on proper fuse. If the lo beam works on the other side, the problem isn't the relay. might be the fuse or wiring circuit? Just my opinion.
I checked the fuses and they are in tact. Is it possible for only the low-beam filament to burn out in the bulb? i.e. Replace the bulb to fix the problem? I also had a remote starter installed on the weekend, is it possible they might have knocked something loose? You mention it can't be the relay since only one light is out, is that because one relay controls low-beams on BOTH lights?
Thank you!
Yes, the lo beam relay controls lo beam on both sides. See the two fuses under the low beam relay, those fuses are for left and right lo beams. Checking fuses is great, but, did you check voltage on fuse circuit, using a test light. Even if the fuse is good, if no voltage on the fuse circuit, the circuit is still dead.
Check the head lamp connector, voltage and ground for lo beam, if voltage and ground are both good, then it has to be the bulb or socket, right. You could switch the lo beam bulb from one side to the other, if it then works, the problem is the bulb, correct?
I have the same issue with the left low beam of my honda civic 2010. Fuses are ok and i have already replaced the bulb but the left bulb does not light on. Any idea what might be happening?

Hi again,
I lookd for the Technical Service Bulletin on headlights that you referred to in our Live Chat. It is Service Bulletin 07-027 dated May 12, 2007. A downloadable copy is avaibale here. It contains procedures, photos and images on how to address the issue. However, may I point out that said TSB refers to both left & right low beams and not only the right.
Hope this be of additional help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.

You need a new headlight dimmer switch located on the steering column between the dash and the firewall

Hi, the problem you are having is with the switch itself, this is a common problem so the switch is not expensive to buy.
once you replace the switch the lights will work as normal.
if it was just one light not working then you could say bulb if the high beam wasnt working then you could say it was fuse or relay but as you have high beam this would rule out them being the fault.
now the only other problem it could be is a wire so give the wires a bit of a wiggle at the back of the head lights then give them a try if they then work you may need to do some soldering to fix a loose wire but if they still dont work then this would suggest the switch itself is at fault.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
SOURCE: 1998 buick century only high beams and turn
The Buick Century is equipped with a
multi-switch. This switch is an all in one switch that controls your
cruise control, windshield wipers and turn signals in one switch. This
switch also controls dimming and brightening of your headlights. The
dimmer switch is simple to replace, and all you need is a phillips head
screwdriver to complete the task.
