2000 Dodge Intrepid. Replaced battery, speedometer stopped.

I have a 2000 Dodge Intrepid. I had to have the battery replaced and since then my speedometer does not work. Any ideas about how to fix this?

Yes, all other gauges are working, the engine light is on. All other aspects of the car work fine other than the speedometer and the odometer. I have checked the fuses and they are fine.

Did you change the Vehicle speed sensor or the wheel speed sensor?? The vehicle speed sensor is located on the side of the transmission..And its for the speedometer and shift pattern..If all good depending on what year, some have to be reprogrammed

2000 Intrepid w/ 2.7 won't shift out of first and speedometer stopped working. Is it a sensor?? Or am I out a transmission?

If the engine light is on, find out the engine code by turning the ignition key to the "ON" position (do not turn to start the engine". Insert the key and turn it ON, OFF, ON, OFF, ON. The odometer should then flash a code beginning with "P". This will give you a clue as to the problem.

I had a similar problem which turned out to be a Crankshaft sensor problem. Had it replaced and car runs fine.

Speedometer quit on a 2000 intrepid. And it quit shifting gears at the same time

A common issue are the input and output speed sensors. When bad they cause the vehicle to go into limp mode keeping it in second gear and speedometer sometimes no longer works.

My 2000 dodge intrepid will not start, just goes around and around.

YOU MOST LIKE HAVE VALVES CONTACTING PISTONS AND NOT ALLOWING ENGINE ROTATION..A 2.7 ENGINE IS AN INTERFERENCE ENGINE AND IF GOES OUT OF TIME WILL DAMAGE VALVES AND/OR PISTONS

2000 Dodge Grand Caravan Speedometer and Tach not working

sit in the drivers seat close the door. with the key off hold the trip odometer button in then while holding the button in turn the key on. if done correctly this will put the MIC (mechanical instrument cluster) into a self test. if the speedometer does not move like the rest of the gauges during this test the MIC must be replaced. if the speedometer does move it is likely your problem will be fixed, however, if the speedometer does move but it does not start working properly then further diagnostic will be needed.
