the alarm control unit is fitted under the drivers seat can be accessed from the rear foot well by putting seat fully forward .unscrew the two nuts holding the cover the relays are inside the unit.
this unit interfaces will tell the fuel stop solenoid to release (by applying 12 volts)
the fuel stop solinoid is on the main diesel pump under the bonnet - the exac location on the pump will depend on the make - but it should be cylindrical and have one wire connected to it - (i dont think peugeot were using multi wired coded soleniods in 93)
obivously if your car has the keypad immobilser you will know where this is - if it is the remote alarm immobilser the reciever is in the over head consol near the interior front light
SOURCE: water leak to footwell of peugeot 405 diesel estate
if ur still interested, i had a similar problem. under the bonnet, just under the windscreen on passenger side, there is a black plastic cover. on mine it was cracked and had a hole in it, dont know how, must have been like that when i got it. anyway,it had been glued back together, obviously the glue had melted and the thing started to leak again. the water went through into the air filter which is just above the glove box. then it seeps down into the footwell.
hope this helps

SOURCE: I ran my peugeot 406 out of diesel and i think
406 1996 Diesel would either be 1.9D, 1.9TD or 2.1TD
Each of these use a vacuum type distribution pump, which means once the fuel has managed to get to the pump via means of initial priming it looks after itself by constantly sucking fuel. If the engine stops after a a short time it could be a blockage caused by running very low on fuel. First thing to check is the primer system. You may have the squeazy balloon type or the purflux set up with a hand primer button. The issue is common to be at this point but hard to diagnose.
What I have done in the past is disconnect the pipe going to the main pump and given a seperate feed from a pipe submerged in a can of diesel, if it runs fine then it rules out mechanical and pump issues leaving it only to be a supply issue.

SOURCE: hi i have a peugeot 405 diesel and the speedo
I had a similar problem with my old peugeot 405 diesel, something electrical was shorting and actually sparking in the engine compartment which in my case the garage fixed very easily. Same symptoms, the speedo flickered at low speeds but stopped at higher speed.
