I have a 2002 GMC Envoy XL. Had it diagnosed at Autozone. I replaced the spark plug, then the ignition coil. It still runs rough. I think I have a vacuum leak. How do I fix it.

SOURCE: diagnosed with ignition coil problem,

2006 3.9 has to be a T-Bird or LS

There are no spark plug wires

It has Coil-On-Plug individual coils

Plugs don't fail --they get changed at 60,000 miles
give or take, say every 3 years

The front (2) O2 Sensors get repalced at 100,000
miles. The ones closest to the engine

Clean MAF Sensor at least once a year

I have no idea how you inspect a pcm,if your
at home & have no scanner or PC Based Software

Egr Valves fail early on those & other fords

You could test, not look at,actually put an oscilloscope
on the TPS Sensor

Any oil on a spark plug requires a new valve cover gasket

If a coil was replaced based on a code alone, you may have
replaced a good one,not what needed to be replaced if any

SOURCE: 2005 gmc envoy runing rough po302 i replace plugs and "2 coil now po300 runs rough

have you replaced the fuel filter. also check the battery new cars use a lot of power and that could cause a random misfire code. if those are all good then check for a vacumm leak. you can do that with carb cleaner by running the vehicle and spraying around the intake manifold or vacumm lines and listen for a change in the motor

SOURCE: what causes 2000 taurus engine rough idle but no codes

I had a head gasket going when I have a rough idle. Just weeping coolant past the number 1 cylinder. When I pulled the head the piston was all shiny and steam cleaned. $500 dollars all good now.

SOURCE: engine running rough why?

Might be a bad vacuum line, check all vacuum lines for cracks or dry hose and replace as needed

Do a 2004 Envoy SLT 4.2L have a Ignition Module?

Crankshaft position sensor, cam sensor . your vehicle should have coil on plug , a coil at each spark plug !
Ignition Coils
Each ignition coil has an ignition 1 feed and a ground. The PCM supplies an ignition control (IC) circuit. Each ignition coil contains a solid state driver module as its primary element. The powertrain control module (PCM) signals the coil driver to initiate a firing event by applying a signal to the IC circuit at the appropriate time. When the signal is removed, the coil fires the spark plug. The spark plugs are tipped with platinum for long wear and higher efficiency.
During normal operation the powertrain control module (PCM) controls all ignition functions. If either the crankshaft position (CKP) or camshaft position (CMP) sensor signal is lost, the engine will continue to run because the PCM will default to a limp home mode using the remaining sensor input. As mentioned above, each coil is internally protected against damage from excessive voltage. If one or more coils were to fail in this manner, a misfiring condition would result. Diagnostic trouble codes are available to accurately diagnose the ignition system with a scan tool.
If a crank sensor is replaced a Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn must be done and a scan tool is need to do this.

2002 envoy slt cylinder 6 misfire. How can I fix it

It is very common for the coils to go bad on these. If the engine is running rough than it should be fairly easy to swap the number 6 coil with another cylinders coil and see if the misfire follows. If it does than replace the coil and maybe check the spark plugs for replacement.

Changed spark plugs now no spark 2003 envoy

Coil packs was the problem in the first place. When a spark plug misfires, the high voltage goes no where and the coil starts to deteriorate. After prolonged misfire the coil will not make the hi voltage necessary to fire the plug. Replace the coil packs.

2002 GMC Yukon XL Denali 6.0 Vtec Was have brake problems and ABS light on so replaced Huds and all rotors and pads then i was on the freeway when the serves Engine soon light came on so I got to my exit...

P0300 indicates a random or multiple cylinder misfire. With the engine running rough unplug one coil at a time while listening for an RPM change or for the engine to run even worse. If there is no change from one or more coils than check those coils for spark. If there is no spark out one of the coils swap it with another coil. if there is still no spark replace the coil.

How to fix a 2002 gmc envoy ignition coil

If you are referring to the coil pack that sits on top of each spark plug, there is no way to repairs these, they are sealed units. Replacing it is the only option. Before replacing it, switch it to another cylinder location and see if the problem follows.
