SOURCE: anti theft dodge

either you assumption is correct, could need a new key, or the ignition has went bad, try the key first if it does not solve it, replace the ignition.

SOURCE: Anti-theft

if the vehicle starts then stops and the anti-theft light is flahing you may need to re-set the pass-key system to do this you will need to atempt to start the vehicle and when it stalls leave the key in that position and watch the anti-theft light. it should flash on and off for about 5 to 10 minutes. when it stops flahing turn the ignition to off then try to restart your vehicle

Have you another key and fob ?

Try lock/unlock cycle with new key + fob. Your key may be corrupted.

Try also just unlocking the car with the key (not the fob) as soon as you unlock the door put the key in the ignition immediately and see if the car starts.

If you have your radio code it may be worth trying a total reset (leave the car unlocked) disconnect the battery and leave for 20 mins. then reconnect, most systems will then reboot and this MAY help?
Failing all the above it looks like dealer time - more ££ss

good luck !

SOURCE: timing marks on peugeot 1.9 tdi

there is a few ways of doing thes the easiest way being using locking pins
you bont have to go and buy a set of locking pins you can use 3 m8 (13mm headded) bolts and a 5mm allen key

there is a hole in the cam pully and 2 holes in the injection pump pully and 1 in the fly wheel

i suggest you lock the fly wheel up first
the hole is located under the starter motor on the front of the block
insert the 5mm allen key and get someone to turn the crank pully clockwise until allen key engages into the fly wheel

the hole in the cam should be at about 25 past
(if it is at 10 to then you neet to remove the pin from the fly wheel and turn the crank 1 full turn)

when the hole is inthe right place you can insert a m8 bolt and wind it in to the head

with this now lined up you should be able to fit the other 2 m8 bolts into the injector pump pully

with this now done your 1.9 tdi engine is timed up

sorry this is a dealer fix. but it could be as simple as programing a new key.
or it may need a new imoblizer module.

I have an 09 Peugeot 308 petrol. the fan kicked in and I got a faulty anti pollution msg even tho engine was cold Any ideas?

You need to scan the engine management computer and read the fault codes. Based on that info you can begin the diagnosis and repair.

I have just changed my bty, now the car will not start and is showing the anti theft fault

Not sure with the French cars but most manufactures steal from each other, there must be a relearn or a sequence you have to follow before the computer recognizes the new battery.

Anti theft fault

Check if the battery inside the key is properly fixed, or if the battery still with any power. The most probable cause for that is that the battery inside the key is discharged, it happens...

If the key can't send the unlock code for the imobilizer, it will not start, in any hypothesis.

I'm not sure, but I think the battery type is a CR2025.

You can open the key using a coin, put it in the gap on the bottom of the key and twist, this will open up the key case.

Hope it helps...

Best regards!
