2001 cadillac Deville won't start--it was fine all afternoon. Lights come on, I hear a soft click-y sound---but nothing more.--it was fine all afternoon. Lights come on, I hear a soft click-y sound---but nothing more. i change my starter and it is still doing the same thing. but the front lights stays on and i can hear the gas flowing. my dush broad light come on

Your security system inside your steering wheel is probably gone bad and needs to be replaced.This is a dealer job or a very experienced auto elactric shop.

Hi, The clicking you hear is the anti theft system has been triggered, beneath the steering column pull down the fuse cover and locate the (ECU) fuse Labeled so on cover and owners manual. Remove (ECU) fuse turn ignition to on only, do not start, wait 3 minutes turn off ignition remove key, reinstall (ECU) fuse. Try starting Vehicle!

I own a 2001 Cadillac Deville. About a week ago, I ran out of gas. Once I refueled, it turns over but won't run unless I use starting fluid. And even then it won't stay running.

its possible u may have burnt out the pump it uses the fuel to cool the pump

Your battery is dead. Same thing happened in my Grand Prix. (Same company, and similar car in the GM line up as youe DeVille). Try jumping your car, replacing the battery, and/or replacing your alternator, in that order.

I have a power window issue with the rear drivers side window. 2001 Cadillac Deville. The window does not move but I hear a click...The other windows work. Is there a fuse for each window?

That click is the window off tract. You need to pull the door panel off and have a look at the tract and regulator. Sounds off track to me. The fact that it is click tells me that the power feed is not the issue and the fuses are working fine or you would not hear any "clicking."

2001 Cadillac Deville problems starting

I have had the same problem and I have come to the conclusion it is the security system. After 3 minutes the car will start so there is nothing wrong with the battery or starter. I have had it to the dealer a few times and they cannot solve it. It may be the locks on the doors and they may not be resetting properly. I have learned to live with it.
