SOURCE: programing keyless entry

If you have an owners manual the programming instructions are in there. If no manual here they are:

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Ground the receiver program terminal. Jump the two terminals located in the programing ground connector. (What this means in simple terms is locate the wires that run on the right side of the trunk. There is two black wires that has a plug on the end with two prongs. It is in between the antenna and tail lights.)
3. Within 2 seconds of connecting the prongs the door locks will lock. The unlock and the rear compartment lid release will produce a cycle, causing the horn to chirp. This indicates that the module is ready for reprogramming.
4. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time until the doors lock and unlock. The rear compartment lid will release and the horn sounds to indicate that the transmitter has successfully been reprogrammed. (Hold buttons down for approximately 12 seconds)
5. Repeat the previous step for the remaining transmitters.
6. Remove the jumper at the program connector.
7. Verify the proper operation of each transmitter

SOURCE: keyless entry won't work

I have a 1999 BMW E46 I have had a problem with the keyless entry myself. I brought the car to BMW Dealer and they told me that my Lock had an issue and that they need to repair some wiring wich would cost me $1,023.98 to find out that it was a fuse that burned out. I have replaced the 5 amp fuse with another one but it burned the fuse again so I put a 10 amp fuse and i have not had a problems since. In my car is fuse # 54 if Im not mistaken. But waht you can do is open the fuse box which is located in your glove compartment look for a diagram that shows you which fuse is where it will give you a fuse name a number where the fuse is located and how many amps fuse it is.

You can take it back to the dealer, and have them change the battery, or go to Autozone, buy the battery and do it yourself. They can show you how to do it. And which battery it takes. It's not hard to do. Good luck.

SOURCE: Power door locks do not work with keyless remote control

There are two multiplex control units - one on the driver side and one onthe passenger side - which one did you unplug? The one on the driver side is the main "Brain" while the other one is the one that houses the keyless reciever. According to the service manual, any troubleshooting of this system must begin with the one on the driver side. It can get quite involved because Honda does not provide actual troubleshooting (symptom) charts, just descriptions of the electrical connectors and what conditions should be present at each conector pin under what system condition. (each pin has to be tested to determine what is malfunctioning) The system is not capable of outputting fault codes of any kind.

What are the locations of the Remote Control Door Lock Receivers RCDLR in a 2015 Malibu?

According to GM there are 3 components in the RCDLR or RKE remote keyless entry system. My key fobs with new batteries only work standing right next to the car. The range of the key fob dropped at that the same time my TPMS tire pressure monitoring system repair warning came on my dashboard. The problem is that there are 4 different components on the 2015 Malibu. I will provide the GM part numbers for these, if you please tell me where they are and also how to replace them: #13583559 Remote Control Door Lock Receiver #13502554 Antenna #13502551 Ignition Lock Key Transmitter Antenna #13502549 Low Frequency Console Antenna

How to disable a car alarm on a G6 pontiac 2008

Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Description and Operation When armed, the content theft deterrent (CTD) system is designed to deter vehicle content theft by pulsing the horns and exterior lamps for approximately 30 seconds when an unauthorized vehicle entry is detected. However, the CTD system does not affect engine starting.
An unauthorized entry can be any of the following with the CTD system armed:
• When any door is opened without first being unlocked using the UNLOCK command from the keyless entry transmitter
• Unauthorized entry into the underhood area (if equipped)
• Unauthorized entry into the rear compartment
• After a battery reconnect, if the battery was disconnected with the CTD system armed
The components of the CTD system are:
• Body Control Module (BCM)
• Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR)
• Security indicator
• Door ajar switches
• Rear compartment lid ajar switch
• Hood ajar switch (if equipped)

Arming the CTD System
Use the following procedure in order to arm the system:
Place the shift lever in P (park).
Turn OFF the ignition.
Open any door.
Important: The system is not armed if the doors are locked manually; the remote keyless entry transmitter must be used to arm the content theft deterrent (CTD) system.
Lock the doors using the LOCK button on the transmitter. The system is in standby mode and will not start the arming timer until all doors are closed.
The system will begin the arm sequence immediately after the last door is closed. If the keyless entry transmitter is used to arm the system after the vehicle doors are closed, the arm sequence will begin as soon as the LOCK command is received by the transmitter.
Locking the Vehicle Without Arming the CTD System
Locking the vehicle may be accomplished without arming the content theft deterrent (CTD) system. Use of the manual door locks or using the key to lock the doors will lock the vehicle, but will not arm the CTD system.
Disarming an Armed System/Silencing an Alarm
If system arming has been requested by the keyless entry transmitter, it must be disarmed.
Important: Using the power door unlock switch or manually unlocking the doors does not disable the content theft deterrent (CTD) arm mode. Also, disconnecting the battery or pulling fuses does not disable the arm mode, since the BCM stores the CTD mode status in memory.
• To disarm the CTD system in standby mode, perform one of the following:
- Press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter.
- Insert a valid key into the ignition and switch to the ON position.
• To disarm the CTD system in the armed mode (non-event) or when activated (during an alarm event):
Press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter.

2008 HHR Remote Starter not working

Is this an issue with all 2008 HHR remotes??? Highly doubtful , probably the vehicles keyless entry system . Taking the vehicle to a qualified repair shop an having the keyless entry system checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . Do you know what a DTC is ?
The keyless entry system is a vehicle entry device. The keyless entry system is used in conjunction with the body control module (BCM) to remotely activate certain vehicle features. Keyless entry will lock/unlock the doors, or release the rear compartment lid when a corresponding button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. This is accomplished by the transmitter sending a radio frequency to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). The RCDLR interprets the signal and activates the requested function via a serial data message to the BCM. A low transmitter or vehicle battery or radio frequency (RF) interference from aftermarket devices, such as 2-way radios, power inverters, computers, etc., may cause a system malfunction. High RF traffic areas may also cause interference that could lead to a malfunction. Keyless entry allows you to operate the following components:
• Door locks
• Liftgate lock
• Remote rear doors (Panel only)
• Vehicle locator/panic alarm
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Remote vehicle start
The keyless entry system has the following components:
• Keyless entry transmitters
• Keyless entry antenna
• 2 Way Advanced Remote Start RCDLR
• BCM

Guessing will not fix this .

The tpms is on

Hi, if you see this TPMS icon illuminated, it means your vehicle has a low tire. STOP, and check the inflation pressure in your tires. This warning light will come on if tire pressure in any of your tires falls more than 25% below the recommended inflation pressure (refer to your owners manual, or the tire inflation decal in the glovebox, driver door pillar or gas tank filler cap lid for tire inflation pressure recommendations).
The TPMS warning light should come on for about one second when the ignition key is first turned on for a bulb check. It should then go out if all of the tires are properly inflated. If it does not go out, or it comes on while driving, you have a low tire.
If the TPMS warning light is flashing, it indicates a fault has been detected in the TPMS system that will require further diagnosis. Common faults include a bad tire pressure sensor, a defective keyless entry receiver module, a fault in the TPMS or body control module (BCM), or wiring problems in the keyless entry/TPMS/BCM circuit.

How do i reset the tpms on a 08 implala SS after a tire rotation, without a owners manual

You have two minutes to match the first tire/wheel position, and five minutes overall to match all four tire/wheel positions. If it takes longer than two minutes, to match the first tire and wheel, or more than five minutes to match all four tire and wheel positions the matching process stops and you need to start over.
The TPMS sensor matching process is outlined below:
  1. Set the parking brake.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON/RUN with the engine off.
  3. Press the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter's lock and unlock buttons at the same time for approximately five seconds. The horn sounds twice to signal the receiver is in relearn mode and TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message displays on the DIC screen.
  4. Start with the driver side front tire.
  5. Remove the valve cap from the valve cap stem. Activate the TPMS sensor by increasing or decreasing the tire's air pressure for five seconds, or until a horn chirp sounds. The horn chirp, which may take up to 30 seconds to sound, confirms that the sensor identification code has been matched to this tire and wheel position.
  6. Proceed to the passenger side front tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
  7. Proceed to the passenger side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
  8. Proceed to the driver side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5. The horn sounds two times to indicate the sensor identification code has been matched to the driver side rear tire, and the TPMS sensor matching process is no longer active. The TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message on the DIC display screen goes off.
  9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK/OFF.
  10. Set all four tires to the recommended air pressure level as indicated on the Tire and Loading Information label.
  11. Put the valve caps back on the valve stems.

How to reset the tire pressure on a 08' chevy tahoe?

    TPMS Sensor Matching Procedure

Each TPMS sensor has a unique identification code. Any time you rotate your vehicle's tires or replace one or more of the TPMS sensors, the identification codes will need to be matched to the new tire/wheel position. The sensors are matched to the tire/wheel positions in the following order: driver side front tire, passenger side front tire, passenger side rear tire, and driver side rear tire using a TPMS diagnostic tool. See your dealer/retailer for service.

The TPMS sensors can also be matched to each tire/wheel position by increasing or decreasing the tire's air pressure. If increasing the tire's air pressure, do not exceed the maximum inflation pressure indicated on the tire's sidewall.

To decrease air-pressure out of a tire you can use the pointed end of the valve cap, a pencil-style air pressure gage, or a key.

You have two minutes to match the first tire/wheel position, and five minutes overall to match all four tire/wheel positions. If it takes longer than two minutes, to match the first tire and wheel, or more than five minutes to match all four tire and wheel positions the matching process stops and you need to start over.
