SOURCE: turbine input speed sensor

NO the sensor is out side the transmission. And it might just be a bad connection due to being out in the eliments. On the 3.1 your going to have to jack up the car to get to it from underneath and you should see it on the passenger side may be on top, Sorry been awhile and carful not to brake the clips that hold the wire to the sensor when disconnecting.
Good luck and hope this helps

SOURCE: input/turbine speed sensor circuit

Your speed sensor, is located on top of the transaxle, near the starter. To access it, remove the battery, then remove the battery tray (4 10mm bolts). You will see wires coming from the lower oxygen sensor, and they snap into the bracket that holds the speed sensor in place. The actual speed sensor has a 2 wire clip on it, and is held in place by the bracket and a 10mm bolt.

SOURCE: I have a code p0715, which is the input turbine speed sensor

The input/turbine speed sensor has nothing to do with the turbo. It is transmission related and is a circuit malfunction. I am having the same problem and it causes my car to downshift into 3rd gear (computer's fail safe gear) on the highway. The sensor is located above the transmission housing, and doesn't require you to take apart the tranny. I am having trouble finding the part number for this and where to buy it. Any help would be nice.

SOURCE: how do i know when a input turbine speed sensor is bad?????

Hi there:
Make sure the TSS sensor connector is good. Since you replaced the engine it is possible the wires/pins in the connector are loose or bad. I have seen where the wires break inside the insulation at the connector. You could have a bad TSS sensor (200-400 ohms good), if you have a multi meter we can check the circuits too. I would check the connector and then clear the code , test drive and see if it comes back. The PCM uses this sensor to control shift patterns so a fault is stored in the PCM. P0715 is for a loss of TSS signal during operation.

we can check the continuity but that will only show if there is high resistance. If there is a wire about to break(instead of 15 strands connected 3 or 4) we need to load the circuit or wire. If we put 12 volts through the wires(disconnected from the sensor and PCM of course) and we use a light bulb as a load if the wire is bad the bulb will be dim. I would start with an ohm check of the sensor and a close inspection of the connector.

We start with an ohm test on the sensor and then continuity test the circuit. Then we load the circuit. I have had the wires break as I disconnected the connector or tugged on the wires at the connector.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Where is the turbine shaft speed sensor circuit A.

On the 2007 Nissan Frontier with an automatic transmission, the Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) sensor circuit A is located on the transmission itself. The TSS sensor is mounted on the outside of the transmission case and is located near the input shaft. To access the TSS sensor, you will need to locate the sensor on the transmission and disconnect the electrical connector. The TSS sensor has two wires, which are typically colored yellow and black. You can test the TSS sensor using a multimeter to check for proper resistance and continuity. It is important to note that the TSS sensor is a critical component of the transmission system, and a malfunctioning TSS sensor can cause issues such as improper shifting, harsh shifting, or the transmission going into "limp" mode. If you suspect that your TSS sensor is faulty, it is recommended to have it diagnosed and repaired by a qualified mechanic.
