SOURCE: steering column wires

Hey there,

You've got a few typo's there. Did you mean 1988-1995?
Confirm the year, make and model of your truck.

That being said, pink is IGN.

Hope this helps
Mike

SOURCE: power steering fluid

I would suggest using Valvoline Power steering fluid.  It is certified to be used in GM vehicles.  Hope this helps.  Let me know if I can help any further.  Thanks for an honest rating and for using FixYa!

SOURCE: 2003 1500 quad cab, AC and fuses are good, isolated to wiring

i had same problem in my truck. the a/c wire in column is a thicker red wire, hooked into like a black relay box. either that relay box is bad or because of using the tilt, the wire cracked and needs to be re-spliced. that was my problem and it fixed it

Horn and cruise contol

Sounds like your steering column wiring harness has come disconnected. Check the condition of the connector, which will be located between the brake light switch and the instrument cluster, plugging into your steering column. Also, check the ground connection at the steering column (single black wire).

I have a 2000 gmc 1500 Z-71 my tow/haul stays engaged and i am unable to turn it off ...it also come on by itself...

This is only an idea-pull column shifter boot-you will notice a ORANGE wrapped wire which runs from the button on the shifter down toward the steering column. This is the Tow/haul wire. The way this is positioned on the steering column will cause the wire to be pinched when ever the steering wheel is adjusted. This pinching can cause a short or cause the tow/haul not to work at all. NOTE: Inside this orange wire wrap are two very fine fiber wires. Be careful and good luck

I have a 94 chevy 1500 and the brake lights are dim and wire from brake switch gets hot brake is on then it blows a fuse. traced all wires and replaced brake switch. what else could it be?

Possibly a short in the directional switch in the steering wheel. Your brake lights use the same filament as the turn signals, so the brake light wiring goes thru the directional switch. Does one wire from the brake light switch go up the steering column?
