You may also call GM at the phone number shown in the web page to see if yours is recalled. It may not be faulty, even if recalled, as this is a precautionary recall of many airbags throughout the world.

You may need the VIN to check

Hi David You need to contact a dealer or Saab website have your VIN number at hand. Search recalls airbags. There may be a dedicated website for airbag recalls where you are, you will have to google that. Good luck

1996 Saab 9000 SRS light came on after car in storage 8 months. But new battery and computer reset failed to turn light off

Any of the issues you mentioned may be the reason for the light being on. All the light tells you is that there is a fault in the airbag system somewhere. Air bags can be extremely dangerous to work on unless you know exactly what you are doing. They can cause serious injuries or *****. You would be far better to take your car to a repairer than to try and fix this yourself. If you do not care if the airbag is not working, you can pull the fuse and the light will go out, but remember, you then wont have a working airbag.

Airbag light

You can try disconnecting the battery cable

That may create even more problems, if you
don't understand how your car works

You could just drive it & hope the MIL lamp goes out
& it may

Then you may have to go into enhanced data with any
scan too,l to get to the srs module as you suggested

Airbag light stays on 1996 saab 900s what to do

The most common cause for your air bag light is a faulty sensor. In this condition, the airbag cannot be depended upon to deploy in a collision. In almost every case, replacing the airbag sensor will solve your issue.

TCS light on, ABS light on, brake light on, spedometer and odometer not working on my 2001 Saab 9-3 convertible, someone tell me which sensor is not working. Hate to take it to Saab dealer, all are crooks....

Well, it could mean that the emergency brake has not been fully released. The ABS system light is on if something has occurred within the ABS system. Something faulty may have happened there, get it checked out!

1997 saab 900S airbag worning light on

There are lots of sensors in your car that tell the Airbag Module that you are in the seat.
The seatbelts also have sensors in them and are known for going bad. Run down to your local autozone and they will have something to hook up to it to find the code that the Airbag set. That will lead you in the dirrection you need to look in. (Important) YOUR AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY WHILE THE LIGHT IS ON IF YOU ARE IN A ACCIDENT
