SOURCE: JERKS WHEN DRIVING, ESPECIALLY IN

That's a good bet, and a good place to start. Try that, and maybe some new spark plugs just for the heck of it (they're inexpensive), and see if you run better afterward.

step #3 is turn an additional 90 degrees. sart in the middle and work your way out going top tobottom, good luck.

Testimonial: "thanks very much. I thought that the "90 degrees" on the gasket instruction sheet was a misprint. Your answer was quick and informative. G.M."

Your Catalytic Converters may be plugged. This has been the case on two Fords I have owned. Either have them replaced, or if you are up to disconnecting the exhaust system and cleaning them out, that works too. Probably not legal in your state though but is a poor man's fix.

1991 ford areostar, broken air filter box.

if your problem started when the air box broke and you don`t want to replace it with a new one(which I wouldn`t because of price) why not go a wrecking yard and get a used one.

Why won't my 1991 Ford Aerostar start?

Because it is a 1991 Ford Aerostar.... STEVE, you have so many areas that need to be checked, it will require a technician.
Why? It could be your GAS (old and water in the fuel), ignition shorts, Vacuum adjustments, plugs, plug wires, fuel pump, clogged lines, battery, battery posts are corroded, battery cables are bad, and lots more.

Could be a fuse. This happened to me once when driving a Ford Aerostar, after getting gas, all of a sudden I couldn't read the led displayed guages nor would th power windows work. Noticed one fuse gone bad, replaced and all was right again.
