I am sorry but this service is a pain. the filter is located underneath the dash on the drivers side. It is located in the center area. Imagine the center console and the firewall. Remove the gas pedal assembly from the firewall, remove the kick panel just beyond the gas pedal and you will see the HVAC box. Close to the firewall you will see the access door. Remove it and you will find the cabin air filter. I have tried replacing the filter without removing the pedal. The filter can get deformed and damaged if you try to skip this step. Good Luck.

SOURCE: in cabin air filter

its most likely located behind the glove box. which usually comes unhinged fairly easily from its open position stoppers. then there would be an access panel to remove to get to filter(s)

SOURCE: How to remove and replace cabin air filter 2007 se crew cab

If you haven't figured it out yet, try the two links below. They have pics and diagrams. I haven't done this yet but, Nissan suggesting to have it done. (Sitting in the dealer having oil changed as we speak. They want $90 to replace the 2 filters.) I'm planning on doing it myself to save about $70. Doesn't look too difficult - just a little time. Parts are about $22 at local parts store. hope this helps. (Won't be back on this forum. So won't see any response you submit back).

SOURCE: Engine Air Filter

The engine air filter is located in the box behind the battery. This box should have 4 metal clips that pop off and you and pick up the top of the box and underneath is the filter.

SOURCE: trying to change the cabin air filter

1. Open glove box
2. Unhook elastic retainer on right side
3. Locate the two "stop tabs", one on the upper left and the other on the right side. Push both to the left to clear their stops and the glove box will swing down, allowing access to the filter cover.

How do I change the cabin filter in a 2011 Nissan Murano

Most cabin filters are behind the glove compartment. Look in that area for the filter.
Hope this helps.

Change cabin airfilter 2006 Murano

takes about 10 minutes tops and no tools are needed. Slide 2 plastic hinge pins out from bottom of glove box door, pivot the door aside, pop the 3 plastic hook tabs off the bottom of the (white plastic) filter cover, pull the old filter out, and (carefully) slide the new filter in. Replace the filter cover and glove box door hinge pins and you are done.

Arrows should face down.

I have a 2005 Nissan Murano, when the AC or Heater is running it smells like ****. Any solutions?

Yes you need to change your in cabin filter. Wal-mart sells them for around 15$ if you buy the one from Nissan it is around 50$. You will find many recommendations for self install that say to take apart the dashboard and 7 or so screws. Skip that the easier solution is to slide out 2 hinge pins that hold the glove box in place they are located on the underside of the glove box. You will find there is a string that holds the detached glove box so don't yank too hard once the hinge pins are out. Support it if possible so it's not dangling in mid air. There are some clips that cover the flap that holds the filter in place a flat screw driver will make prying those easier. Note orientation on uninstall of old and reverse procedure with new filter. Reinstall flaps/clips then glove box. Viola Saved yourself 129$ dealer install..
