If you know your distributor key broke, then your timing is going to be wrong, and the computer is telling you that the cam and distributor are out of sync (out of time). Replace the distributir key, manually rotate engine til #1 piston is at TDC, properly position distributor to match, and reset the code. Assuming the broken key didn't get into the oil path but sank to the bottom of the crankcase, you should be fine. Since the potential for this part to get sucked up by the oil pump and destroy the entire rotating assembly, you should also remove the oil pan and try to find the key. Replace the pan gasket and pan and change the oil AND filter, BEFORE trying to crank the engine.

The Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor detects the position of the camshaft in order to identifiy when piston No. 1 is on its compression stroke. The CMP sensor is used for ignition timing in the Ford DIS igntion system, but not in the EDIS igntion system. Both DIS/EDIS use the CMP signal for synchronizing the firing of sequential fuel injectors.
On the 3.0L vulcan engine, the CMP signal is generated by a single Hall-Effect magnetic switch, activated by a single "vane" spinning around by virture of a synchronized shaft which is driven by the camshaft.
The CMP sensor & synchronizer/shaft are located behind the intake manifold (i.e., back near the firewall on a Ranger) on the top of the cylinder block. If you just need to replace the sensor, it is a simple job of unplugging the electrical connector and removing the screws holding the sensor in place. Here is a sketch of the sensor to give you an idea what to look for:

replace it. there is a connection or a short in the sensor that's throwing the code. Get your Saab parts at Carquest Auto Parts, They have a WORLDPAC division for all hard to find(and easy) parts. trust me, you will save a fortune on Saab, Mercedes, Volvo and other high end parts.

The Camshaft Position Sensor tells the PCM (computer) the position of the Camshaft Position. This Sensor sychronized along with several other Sensors including the Crankshaft Position Sensor the firing of the electronics to the spark plugs of each cylinder.
It is not difficult to replace and relatively inexpensive.
1. Disconnect the Negative side of the Battery,
2. Locate the Sensor and unplug.
3. Remove the Position Sensor retaining bolt.
4. Pull out the Sensor.
Replacement is reverse of above order.
Hint: use fresh engine oil on the end/sides of the Sensor especially around the rubber o-ring(s) to ease pushing the Sensor into proper position.
