SOURCE: check engine light is on
Hi klapperkiste,
First you will need a generic obd2 reader in order to see what codes are stored in the ecm. If I'm not mistaken autozone will check it for free and give you a code like P0453, P and 4 digits #s with this information you will know what area the trouble is located. Still some testing will need to be done in order to pinpoint the trouble. It is very important that you write down all the DTCs (diagnostic trouble code)s in order to find the solution to your problem.
The "Check Engine" light will turn on when emissions out of the tail pipe exceed 1.5 times the federal limit. Any number of thing can cause the light to come on and not show any driveability symptoms, a common cause is leaving the gas cap loose after a fill up. I hope find this information helpful, More information is needed on your part to go further in finding a solution to your problem.

that appears to be a camshaft position sensor performance code. you can start by checking to see if the sensor is working properly, re-check and make sure that the harness is ok by checking the resistance through the harness if all looks well there make sure the computer has the latest software on it by having it scanned at your local dealer. also you can check the reluctor wheel on the camshaft for damage or debris in the way of the sensor.
hope this helps!
SOURCE: how can i turn off the
you have to read your computer codes to see what your car is telling you to fix,and after you fix the problem it can be canceled and it will stay off until you have another problem.
