How do I bypass the neutral safety switch?

The neutral safety switch is located on the transmission. If it is by-passed the vehicle may not start as the computer will be looking for an input signal to assure the vehicle is in a park or neutral state. Why do you need it by-passed?

Wont shift out of 1st gear 2001 dodge durango 5.9

Could be a bad speed sensor which screws into the trans. You have the 46RE trans which should be serviced every 30-40k mills and also have its bands adjusted.

How to change ncc switch on durango

I will assume you mean the safety nuetral switch cause thats what it sounds like to me to be the problem. The safety nuetral switch is located on the transmission. Before changing it out find it and make sure it didnt come loose if it did all it needs is to be adjusted and retightend. If after adjusting it and tighting and the same problem persist the go ahead and change it out. Make sure the connection is all the way in also.

99 dodge durango 5.9 with a 46re trany goes in

These transmissions are known for having problems unfortunately. If it drives in first gear thei it sounds like a broke spring in the valve body. If you are not familiar with trans repair this can be a task as there are lots of parts in the valve body. Also could be a bad solenoid on the valve body they have fine screens and get clogged real easy. On these transmissions it is best to change fluid as often as possible as they are tempermental!

Hope this gets you moving forward!

What kind of tranny will work to replace mine?

Yes. They should both be 46RE transmissions and the bolt patterns and the plugs should be the same.
