The main dealer will supply the code usually for a small charge.
Have a look on line first though because some are offered freely .
You will need the model year and chassis number.

our shop work on alot of ml320 the noise you are describing is a bushing in the rear suspension,on the torque bar.

I install car audio for a living, and see this problem in ml320's all the time. There is no good fix for it. Every time one of my customers goes to the dealership, they tell them they need to replace the system. You can buy a very nice aftermarket indash with navigation, moblile video, bluetooth, and Ipod controller for 1/5 of what Mercedes will charge. The wires you need for power are behind the radio, a standard VW adaptor harness will work, just make sure to reverse the constant and switched power wires in the harness(red and yellow). You can catch all the speaker wires at the factory amp.

The amp is under the drivers side dash. I have seen post that place it above the gas pedal, but the ones I have bypassed are to the left of the steering column. It is way up there, and not in plain site. It is all the way up, in the corner against the firewall. If you pull back the black sound proof material, you will see it. It looks like an aftermarket amp. It is held in with one 10mm bolt at the bottom. The speaker wires are twisted. The ones I did used the same colors for left and right, so use a tone generator, or small battery to find left and right, front and rear. On the ones I worked on, the pinks and blues were the positives. Hope this helps.
