Question about Mercedes-Benz Cars & Trucks

I drive a Mercedes ML350 4Matic, my dashboard keeps showing "DSR Malfunction". Whenever this happens my A/C keeps going off and on, my radio same thing and sometimes my windows refuse to wind.

Check the fuse box power distribution board for overheated or poor contact normally the fault is on the underside so involves removing and flipping over

SOURCE: dashboard lights blinks and sometimes not visible.

There is a dashlight rheostat switch in the instrument cluster. You should see 2 buttons in the cluster. The one that resets the trip meter is also the knob you turn for dash light brightness. Turn it back and forth a few time to clean any corrosion that may be on the rheostat. I had an old German once tell me to just stake ze knob und go dis vay und dat vay (left and right) und dis vay und dat vay until dey vork right. Try that. If you still have a problem the rheostat will have to be replaced.

SOURCE: head lights and dashboard lights come on and off

This is usually a sign of the battery wires not connected completely or the ground has become frayed and needs to be replaced.

Glad to hear my 2000 Xterra is not the only one possessed by the digital dash demon! I sometimes wonder how many miles are really on it because the odometer, rpm and speed comes and goes when it wants. I've been known to use my GPS to gauge my speed while driving.
