My 2006 Chevy Silverado 4X4 blower fan stays running after ignition shutOff? I cannot control the fan speed either,The display turns on and off every time, all different setting work, the bars to show the fan speed work etc. Its just the fan speed has a mind of its own, usually really low. Then once its on, when I turn off the ignition I hear the fan running quietly until i remove the blower fuse 40A.

It sounds as if the blower motor relay is stuck, on your vehicle the relay is part of the blower motor resistor, the resistor is behind the glove box.I hope this helps. Take care. If you have more questions for me about this vehicle or if you just want to say Hi! use testimonial. Thanks

Testimonial: "Is that the same as the Blower Control Module?. thanks!"

Thanks Mike. I clicked on "helpful" but it just grayed out and remained at 0. I like to stick with OEM=ACDleco, do you have another brand that has worked well for you? Plus the module apparently had an update (that WAS covered under a warranty-but they discontinued that defect replacement end of 2016-WTF) that gets mentioned constantly, but it requires splicing into the harness, which is not a big deal for me either. I'm assuming you would recommend I use that updated module? I plan on replacing that nightmare 3rd screw tucked behind the center console(why TF does GM always do things like this?), its just how I do things, and I REALLY do not want to do this job more than once, as the research indicates most ppl just leave the screw out b/c its near impossible to get to. Ive replaced HL & DRL on my wifes 2010 Burb, and first set were defective=PITA to get to I was NOT happy with all the factory misalignment's that occur when one R&R so many bolts including fasteners that snap etc. Anyway, I will try the helpful tab again, if it doesnt work i will reset the page & try it again if I can get back here-lol.

The important thing is that you get the answers you need. I to believe in OE parts. When you see how cheaply made even the OE part is you'll see why they upgraded it. Stay warm.

SOURCE: air conditioning blower stays on at all times.

Per your description, I believe you may have a blower fan relay that is stuck closed.
Remove the relay from the under-hood fuse center and see if the fan stops.
If it does stop, put the relay in slowly and see if you here the relay "click" and the fan come back on.
Let me know.

2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 z71 4x4 the ac wont kick off after key is out of the ignition and it only blows hot air.

I am assuming you mean the blower will not stop with the key off.
The compressor can't run with the engine off.
I would look for a stuck blower relay.

2006 chevy silverado 4x4 blower fan stays running after ignition shut off ? Does it occasionally

It is a thermatically controlled fan so if your coolant is very hot your fan will run until the coolant temperature drops to the preset condition. So if it runs when it is hot, then normal. But if it is cold out then not normal and you will nee to check the temperature sensor.

2006 chevy silverado blower fan not working right. The control does not work. It still blows on low but nothing else. Cut key off and fan still blows.

With one speed working it is more than likely the blower motor resistor (20 dollar part) located in the area of the blower--needs air to pass by it as it gets rather hot), or at worst case the Module. This part (Blower control Module) is a bit more expensive. Try the resistor first, you can test its resistance at different speed settings to see if it is functioning as it should.
