SOURCE: 2004 GMC Envoy has trouble idling

Try the fuel filter. Sounds like the engine might be running rough due to weak fuel pressure. Its cheaper to replace, especially if it's still original from 04. Try running some injector cleaner through a couple of tanks of high octane gas.

SOURCE: battery removal on a 2004 GMC Envoy

The battery is on the right side behind the fuse box. You need a metric set to undo the 3 screws. Theres one that attaches to the body, one to the bar that goes along the top, and theres one on the left side below the vacuum hose and air induction. After you've taken out those three, you should lift the whole thing out(battery and shroud) together. It's hard to take the shroud off before you lift the battery out. After that, you have to pry the shoud off the battery. The two terminals in the back make it hard. Then just go to any auto parts store and they'll give you a new one.

SOURCE: Oil pressure drops to zero at idle on 2002 GMC

You could have three possable problems that I can think of. 1) Your oil viscosity is too low and you need to change it to a higher level. A 5w/30 or 10w/30 oil may thin out too much when it warms up to normal temp and shows low on your gauge. 2) The preasure relief valve is partially open due to a small piece of debris caught under the seat. Unscrew the oil filter and look at the small disk that is near the threded part on the filter base. Theres a spring behind it to keep it closed so all the oil goes into the engine and not bypass back into the oil pan. Push up on it slightly with a small tip screw driver and see that it fully seats in the hole, put a new filter on, and try it. 3) If these two things don't improve the condition, get a socket for taking the oil preasure sender off and get a oil preasure gauge to test the actual oil preasure the engine is producing. You may have a weak pump in the engine. If the preasure is within good specs, I'd change the sender unit with a new one.

Why won't my 2004 envoy start after I put a new battery in it

When you change batteries, always maintain power using jump leads, a battery charger/maintainer or a couple of lengths of wire.

My 2004 envoy will not start and all the lights come on..but sterring wheel is not locked asnd gear shift will not move

Lots of possibilities, but based on the information you've given, the most likely scenario is that the battery voltage has dropped too low to engage the starter. It may still be strong enough to turn on dash lights, interior lights or even headlights, but those draw far less power than the starter. That is assuming it is not 'turning over' based on you saying it will not start. If it turns over (cranks the engine) normally, but still will not start, then that is different. The gear shift on most vehicles will move if you have the key turned to the on position, but I cannot be positive about a 2004 Envoy, so that part seems a bit odd. The steering wheel should be unlocked when the key is in the on position, so that part is normal. If it is a battery problem, that could have been caused by some other issue (failed alternator, for example), or could have been as simple as lights being left on. I hope that helps.

2006 GMC Envoy.. Changed the battery, and now the A/C will not blow out the front vents. Works on defrost and on the floor, and in the back. What's the deal?

the deal is that your a/c doors are now out of calibration. disconnect battery for 1 minute, hook battery back up. now turn key on, DO NOT START THE ENGINE, let it set for 2 minutes, now start engine, it should now work.

2004 envoy will not start. The battery is charged and the dashboard goes crazy. It does nothing when you turn the switch.

Low battery , Bad battery , or just dirty cable ends at the battery. Clean the battery cables by removing them and give them a good brushing to make them look like new clean the battery too.

My 2004 envoy had a light come on that said reducing engine power and then the oil pressure dropped and die but it started back up and everything was fine then it did it again the next day what is the...

Your engine oil pump could be going bad and when your oil pressure drops your engine computer puts the car into a (Limp Mode) so you can safely find a place to pull over to prevent any permanent engine damage. Have your oil pump checked and replaced if necessary.
