SOURCE: Mercedes-Benz Transmission Fluid question

the transmission on your MB is sealed with no way to check the trans fluid level,(no dipstick provided for) that is why the report says "sealed". MB did this to stop customers from overfilling there transmissions, which can cause severe damage if not done properly at the correct fluid temp, this requires special test scan tools.

SOURCE: 2005 ToyotaCamry fault code P0500 Vehicle Speed sensor Malfuction

They are not the sensors you want. The car uses the abs wheel sensors for vehicle speed. Your problem lies in the abs system , possibly the left front sensor, abs ecu or speedo cluster, Clear the code and see if it stay out otherwise you'll need to go to a trusted technician. .

SOURCE: input/turbine speed sensor circuit

Your speed sensor, is located on top of the transaxle, near the starter. To access it, remove the battery, then remove the battery tray (4 10mm bolts). You will see wires coming from the lower oxygen sensor, and they snap into the bracket that holds the speed sensor in place. The actual speed sensor has a 2 wire clip on it, and is held in place by the bracket and a 10mm bolt.

This vehicle sign means what

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Antilock brake system.TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module

1997 C230 Mercedes Benz

Hello

The Engine and Automatic Transmission (not applicable to manual transmissions) in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. Also always check fuel pressure for correct spec for your make and engine type.

Recieving p0700 trouble code

all this code means is that the Transmission control module [TCM] has requested the powertrain control module [PCM] to turn on the check engine light, this is done to alert you to the fact that the transmission has a fault in it;s operation, u may feel nothing, u will need to get the TCM tested for the fault code.

Keeps getting stuck on emergency gear

Hi,

Erasing the error does not resolve the faulty component.

The transmission is protecting itself from further damage - you need to establish what codes are being stored in the transmission computer, when it goes into emergency (limp mode).

So, have the transmission computer scanned by your local Mercedes dealership, for the relevant codes and you will identify the actual faulty electrical components related to the transmission.

If no codes are stored, then it is likely you have a mechanical issue inside your transmission.

Only when you fix the fault, will you achieve a permanent solution.

Cheers,
