No fuses are blown, this is a good thing. I would first start by checking the bulbs. If all bulbs are ok, then I would start checking for high resistance in the circuit. If you would like any help. Please feel free to contact me at:

I am ASE certified in electrical and have access to service manuals for this vehicle.

Testimonial: "i have managed to fix it the next day,i already had checked the bulbs, they were fine,i went back into the 4th fuse box,the tail light fuse was ok,but i removed and checked them all,i then pulled the 2nd from top on the left relay, there are 4 each side and black, and switched sides, then checked the lights again, walla, tail and license plate lights now working, and everything else on the car, this is the fuse box on the left ,under the hood ,next to the firewall where all the lights,wipers,a/c fuses are in a flat black box with 4 clips"

SOURCE: Tail lights don't work on 1998 Chevy Silverado.

check the wiring from the tailights back to the fuse panel, it sounds like an open connection. if i recall correctly check under the dash on the drivers side near the fuse panel for a bunch of wires in a bundle and look carefully for a wire or two that are cut/shorted/or seperated, you can also check under the drivers side kick panel by the hood release.

SOURCE: plugged in a trailer and now brake lights and horn don't work

There definitely should be a fuse for your brake lights. It should be inside the car fuse box, but sometimes it'll be under the hood (very rare). There's also a switch above the brake pedal that turns your brake lights on. This switch may be faulty

SOURCE: The brake lights and 3rd brake stopped working.

Look above your brake pedal and you will see your brake switch up along your brake pedal arm. It will either be between the brake arm and the firewall so when you brake it pushes the switch in. Or it will be between the dash and the brake arm so when you brake it pulls the switch out. Most likely this switch needs to be replaced

2011 Kia Sorento passenger side brake lights not working

Light bulbs require power and ground in order to work. The ground circuit for the left rear combination lamp is shared between the turn lamp, stop lamp and tail lamp. Because the tail light still works in that specific combination lamp, we know that the shared/common ground for that assembly is OK. The power circuit for both stop lamps (left and right) have the same origin; voltage flows from the STOP LP FUSE (15A) through the DBC RELAY (when the stop lamp switch is pressed) and then to each stop lamp via their respective circuit branches. Because the right stop lamp works, we know that the shared/common fuse, relay and switch are all OK. I'd suspect an open in the left stop lamp power supply branch and would recommending checking for voltage on the green & black wire at the left rear combination lamp assembly to confirm. Regarding the left lamp on the hatch, the wiring diagram indicates these are not stop lamps rather tail lamps only. I'd recommend installing a tail lamp bulb instead of a brake light bulb into that assembly as a first step. All lights work for Ford Escape 2009 except taill lights. If it is not the fuse, then what is causing the tail lights to not work?

Your front park lamps and rear tail lamps, use the same fuse and park lamp relay. So if the front park lamps work it's not the fuse or relay. The problem should be the wire circuit. The wire color for voltage at rear tail lamps is violet with white tracer. Use a test light and check for voltage, lamps turned on.
Your stop and turn work ok, correct?

Brake lights work. Why don't tail lights and tag light?

Does the front park lights work and does the vehicle have Daytime Running Lights? If it doesn't have DRL make sure fuse 53 (10A) is good and has power. The stop lamps and tail lamps use the same B61 ground. The ground should be ok. If the fuse is good and has power then there is a possibility there is an open in the circuit between the fuse and the E117 connector or a disconnect at the connector. If it does have DRL it is possible the DRL relay does not have power (fuse 59 in the IPDM 10A) or it is faulty or the IPDM is not grounding it.

I need the wire scam tics for the little light on the license plate. Also why would my night tail lights not turn on but my blinkers do and stop lighhts

The taillight lamps have two filaments in them. One is bright, for the turn signals and brake lights. The other is dimmer, for the parking lights (night running lights.)

There are two different fuses for these. Look in your fusebox for a fuse marked "parking lights" or "running lamps" or "Prkg lts." If the fuse is ok, then the bulbs may need to be replaced.

Eric,
Does the break light on the top of the cab work? If so the fuse and stop lamp relay are ok.
If not the 10 amp fuse in fuse box (JB) maybe open # 20 Stop Lamp passenger side panel . If it is good there is a stop lamp relay (E12) in fuse box under hood from the manual it is the second one in from the left by the battery. Also there is a(VDC) Control Unit (E125) can't find where in the manual it is located.
You would think that the power from the battery , fuse switch to lights not, that is why I got the complete manual for the truck. hard to under stand at times.

the tail lights and brake lights are on a different circuit so if one goes out you still have the other was your car serviced recently the mechanic might have taken it out so you can come back to spend more$$$ check the owners manual for the fuse value EX. 5amp -15 amp? and put it in the open fuse space in the power distribution box behind the battery this will probably fix your problem and unmask a rotten mechanic if you don't have the owners manual you can search it on the net and look at the power distribution box diagram it will tell you the fuse value that should be there LATER MAN!

There is only one circuit. You have to trace the wire from the fuse to find the short. The wire runs to all of the parking and tail lamps as well as the instrument panel, thru the dimmer. If you find connectors along the way, disconnect them to find out if the short is beyond or behind the connector, using an ohmmeter.
