No, it would not have a computer. It's all old style, even down I think to the mechanical breaker points in the distributor for ignition coil control. Fords did not get a transistorized electronic ignition system until 1975 on passenger cars, and even that was without a computer on board. Fords got on board computers in the early to mid '80s.

i cant remember chevy had one in 1980 they started in 1984 or 85 but if you think it as one then follow the vacum lines and you find it arroung the firewall,that is where they were located in the mid 80s on chevys

We don't have that car here in the US but nothing that was built after the mid 80s here has a carburetor.

Look on www.youtube.com for a video of some pulling a radio on a mid 80s olds/buck/chevy. there are thousands of car repair videos there. that way you see someone pull one out and can do it yourself. you can buy a replacement on eBay or at a junkyard/recycler. parts for cars more than 10 years old are hard to find, poke around at flea markets and garage sales, always old radios someone pulled for an upgrade laying around. most likely any mid 80s GM car radio will fit.

I can send you by fax only because i haven't figured out how to make my scanner work corectly with my vista system. For the erealy to mid 80s for z22 and z24 engines this is the best manual as far as telling you what you would need to know i have ever seen i think something must have got lost in translation. The olny problem is it dosn't cover fuel injection but other then that it will be the same. If you want i'll send it

If its the french ignition sys I t is a common problem,II would tap into the black wire and ground it a known good ground,if it fires up,make a good ground and cut the wire going to the vehicle as not to backfeed,more than likely the ECU has a problem because thats where the ground signal comes from,as far as I know this works from late 80s to mid 90s.hope this helps let me know if you need more info DB

but befor you drop the tank lift the seat that is right above the tank and see if there is a panel that pops open for easy removal
