SOURCE: transmission input speed sensor location

It is located on the front of the transmission. you will see 2 of them one on the left under small transmission lines it is the input then to the right behind the radiator overflow there is the other one. Easiest way to change them is with a 1" deep well socket

Where is the input turbo speed sensor located for my 2004 Chevy Cavalier? Is inside the transmission?

The input would be on the front wheels .The out put is on the output of the transmission .So the input from the wheels turning is sent to the pcm and compared with the out put of the transmission out put shaft that puts the drive force to the road .
It could be reversed from front to rear but the concept is the same the computer senses the free wheel spin rate and then adjusts controls like fuel trim and timing air intake and so on compared to the speed of the transmission shaft
Hope this helps

Speed sensor cavalier po717

Not sure which sensor that is. Code 717 is for a turbine input sensor which could be the torque converter or the turbine inside the transmission. Either one could be considered input.
You would need a shop manual to get the test procedures for that circuit.
