SOURCE: RATTLING NOISE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT TIRE

The first thing to check on a rattling noise is if going over minor bumps in the road if that is when it makes noise is a sway bar link, they make a rattling noise. If you raise that wheel up you might also want to try and wobble the wheel to be sure it is not a tie rod end or ball joint. Typically I run into the sway bar links or the sway bar bushings making the noise. However ive even seen it be a rock sitting on the strut plate.

Noise ... raddle

When the engine is cold, go under the car and try to shake the exhaust system at the approximate spot you hear the rattle coming from. It is most likely a heat shield for the exhaust, or a broken (rusted through) hanger for the exhaust making the noise you describe. You can probably correct it with a wire or couple of screws to secure the shield, or replace a hanger.

4x4 light and knocking noise after driving

If you hear the noise after the engine is turned off that noise is most likely the exhaust system cooling down. As far as the light for the 4 wheel drive that requires a test be run with a special scan tool while the problem is occurring.

2004 jeep grand cherokee limited makes a noise

Sounds like a loose belt, Depending on what engine etc., it may need to be changed or if you have adjustment, tightened. When adjustment or replacement done, is a good time to check all pulleys. If your not up to it, an adjustment should not cost too much, few minutes work in most cases, if belt needs changing, price of belt & a little more labor involved.

I have a 2004 jeep grand cherokee, quadre drive full time 4X4. when i make hard left or right turns on pavement it makes wierd sounding noises. it sounds kinda like the tires, but im not sure. is this...

yes when you make the absoulute full turn your hearing like a hissing noise this is normal if this is what your hearing then problem solved but if has a different sound than that like a rubbing sound then check the fender wells to see is there is any rub marks this can be corrected by putting in a turn stopper
