SOURCE: Where is the trans gauge on a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt?
GM eliminated the "dipstick", to check auto trans fluid level, the vehicle must be on a level rack, raised in the air, and a plug on the back of the transmission removed to check fluid level, key here is the vehicle has to be level for accurate reading.

P0606 indicates Control module internal performance. GM is indicating of the replacement ECM. Once replacement is completed reprogramming the ecm is necessary. Locally a few auot parts stores can reflash the ECM.May want to check with a NAPA or Carquest for this otherwise dealer is probably the only option.
Notice: Control module damage may result when the metal case contacts battery voltage. DO NOT contact the control module metal case with battery voltage when servicing a control module, using battery booster cables or when charging the vehicles battery.

SOURCE: remove and replace Alternator on 2005 chevrolet
All you really need to do is disconnect the cables directly attached to the alternator, release the tension on the serpentine belt, and remove the bolts holding the alternator on. to install a new on, just to the opposite. you might want to loosen the tension first if that makes it easier to disconnect the wire(s) from the alternator. should take about 1-2 hours tops for $100.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
As a first course of action I strongly suggest that you remove the positive battery connector, let it sit for atleast 5mins. then reconnect it again. This will reset the system and may get it back to it's normal operation. If the problem still persists then it's wise to take it in to the dealer to have an engine scan to know the fault and the fix.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Hi, first of all, do you have the experience to do air conditioning repair? If you have tools of the trade such as a vac-pump, service gauges, and know how the sequence of operation is, I can walk you through it. You have to have the know how and have the equipment to do this. Please let me know what you know first. This is a long and difficult process.
