How do I remove the ft ac vent center on a 2012 tohoe ?

It is the ac vent door I believe thats what it called parts store knows i had same thing on a 2014 it is on pass side would be right above your feet on right advance dont carry them but autozone does i believe around 25 bucks half of dealer cost

Something may have fallen into the defog vents from the dash. Getting into the duct work is tough and expensive.

When AC on and cold air from rear but not front is usually a blend door/heater box issue. You may have a non functioning blend door motor that controls hot/cold distribution of airflow

the heater vacuum motor and lines needs to be checked.Also get the blend door checked.

remove the vent and clean inside

Vacuum hose not connected or leaking or something interfering w/door flapper inside ducting, bet it's actuator under dash on the duct but wouldn't be surprised if it's cable controlled either way the flapper is not moving need to find the pivot shaft swing arm and see if something came off or broke then find out why check by moving the flapper by hand if it moves ok problem is not there now don't force anything after you fix it could be object rolling around in duct or something freezing up like a/c cooling condensation water not draining out properly could be that two year olds pacifier no one could find I have seen many forign objects bouncing around in ducting

you can try a skinny magnet and try getting at it threw the vent it's most likely a ink pin, if that does not help try removing the center vent or the driver vent it just snaps out and try to get at it with a magnet, if you can't get it with a magnet you will need a three finger grappling tool to try to grab a hold of it otherwise you will have to remove the center air conditioner duct which is not to hard.

There is an AC vent on either side of the radio. Push the vent in on the top, so that the vents are aimed upwards.

You will not be able to see two philips screws just above the vents. Remove them.
Some knob type AC units have a screw behind the center AC knob as well, that you can pull straight off.

2004 I *believe* should have the push button ac and no bolt on the bottom.
Once the screws are out, the bezel will pull straight off, unplug the wires then set aside.

The radio has 4 10mm bolts or philips screws holding it in (some bolts had a philips cut on them as well).
Remove them and pull the radio straight out, unhooking the cables/antennas

Remove the two hidden philips screws in the center front cover, below the ac control head.

Gently pull the center front cover off the ac/radio/vents. There are metal push-clips holding the top corners in... be cautious as the dash board can crack from fatigue when removing this part.

Remove the center hood and multi-display.

You now have access to removed the speaker.
