SOURCE: 2004 chevy astro van back seat right door won't open
not sure about your specific vehicle but i do know that in the winter, when a door closes, it grabs the pin in your doorjam like a lobster claw closes on a finger. if any moister is inside the mechinism, it can freeze very easily. also if you pull on the door handles tp try to open it...if the door handle moves freely, then you either bent or popped the rod that goes from the latch mechanism to the handles and you would have to take off the interior wall of the door to get to it and fix the rod or put it back...it used to happen to older cars allk the time.

Ok here is what I just did. From the inside I removed the handle bolts and the two screws on both ends. (Be sure the other side is pushed in and latched). Then I used a punch and removed the two hinge pins on the roof. ***WITH SOME HELP*** push the release button. Careful for the door will pop out due to the cylinders pushing outward. At that point I removed the molding to access the latch. *Note---there are two more screws on both ends of the molding.* From the inside you can now reach the latch and release it. Again be careful the other cylinder will push out and the door will drop until it reaches the end of the cylinder stroke. Now you will need to re-pin the hinges at the top. From there I located the broken plastic clip that caused all this discuss. I temporarily removed the latch so I can still use the van until I get to the parts store plus it seems as if it will be easier to replace the clip. GOOD LUCK ! ! !

Gday mate, we had a problem with another late model vehicle similar to that, the bulb that was put into the reverse light was not exact brand product ( ohmage was slightly wrong ) and fowled up computer, correct bulb in place and disconnect battery to reset K A M ( keep alive memory) problem solved, BEWARE, some vehicles cannot have KAM reset except for dealer computer tethered reboot , just try putting the factory correct bulb(s) in and see how it goes, geoff. hope this helped.
