2007 toyota camry 2.4L somebody had replace something where the oil drain bolt go it look like a small radiator cap with a rubber seal around it i never seen anything like it and i don't know the name of it so i did twist it out of the oil drain hole it look like a small cable so i cut it into with a hack saw so one part is left in the oil pan i want to know will it damage the engine or crankshaft when i start the engine up? i am changing the oil.
No but might get jammed under oil pump
Yes it can
If a bolt is in the bottom of the oil pan, it will stay there until you remove it. Shouldn’t cause any issues at all.
I cant understand your question ...in witch oil pan petrol tank or engine oil pan .... Ans ..if in engine from upper side then it damages engine... if it drop from engine oil Gage side then no problem...... if in petrol tank then no problem....
engine oil pan
clarify.... from upper side where we drop engine oil
from bottom side where the oil drain.
no problem.....but one thing how drop any thing upwards.
it's hard to expain some body tried to fix the oil drain hole leak and screw something into the hole so when i screw it out part of it was left inside the hole and oil pan.
its OK no issue with Ur vehicle. engine oil goes up with pump and the pump has a filter it means any thing can not go up in engine. be happy

You most likely hit a curb, the pan is cast aluminum and will break like glass if you hit a curb, the pan can be changed without removing the engine, it is very time consuming, but it can be done.
SOURCE: How to I replace the oil filter on a 2009 Toyota Camry V6 engine?
Under the engine in the front you will see an aluminum cover. There is a square hole that fits a 3/8 ratchet remove this first. The new filter comes with a drain adapter that snaps in the hole under the cover. This lets the oil in the housing drain. Then take a oil filter cup wrench or a big channel lock to twist of the larger portion. Then change the filter and o-ring and reinstall.Make sure the o-ring on the square drive cover is there also

i would first check the timing and if that does not fit i would take the cover back off and look at the belt for a bad or missing tooth

look up LC Engineering on the web, they have what's called a seal saver, it's a sleeve that goes on the back of the harmonic balancer/crankshaft pulley, it has a real fine/shiny finish and it works really well.
I use them myself. HAWK

there are seals behind the timing cover.when they leak oil drips down and out.my 93 base model leaks oil and coolant from this same place.
