SOURCE: 2008 jeep wrangler, no power to ignition or accessories, after replacing starter.
Take it to a shop. U fu--ed up royally doing the swap. If you had done the job correctly you would not be having this problem. Decent thing to do at this juncture is help your buddy pay for the correct repairs.
Testimonial: "That thought has been going through my mind since it all began. Problem is, I can't for the life of me figure out what I might have done wrong. Battery was disconnected before even getting under it to remove the starter, all connections were kept restrained to avoid anything making contact while doing the job. Everything was put back together tight and clean before reconnecting the battery. I didn't do anything different from any of the other jeeps I've replaced starters on in the past, yet I've never had any problems before. Please note, I'm not disagreeing with your assessment, just trying to get some insight on what I may have done wrong...."
Time to get out the OBD scanner and see what codes have been thrown. Otherwise it is just guess work.
Testimonial: "Yno power at the OBD connection car completely dead"
