Question about Acura Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

2002 Acura tl 3.2L On the ECT(Engine Coolant Temperture) sensor connectors. Which color wire goes into what side of the plug? Red & white, green & yellow. Left or right?

Does it matter what side the different colr wires go into? Is each one for a certain position in the plug? The two wire plug that connects to the ECT sensor, red & white, green & yellow. I need to know, which color wire goes into the plug? Because the two wires broke off of at the plug when I checked the ECT sensor, because the car showed a DTC-P0118. So now I don't know where each one goes into the plug. I need some help.

SOURCE: trailer light problem

Check it with a test light. White-ground, Yellow-left turn, Green-right turn, Brown-tailights. Check it on the truck first. There are seperate fuses for just the trailer wiring in the fuse box under the hood. The Blue and Red wires are for Trailer brakes, don't worry about those.

03 mercedes c230 how to test the cooling fan that have 4 wires

All you need to do to test all the fan controls is disconnect the ECT (engine coolant temp.) sensor on the engine, that will turn on the cooling fans by default. Remember the fans seldom run, the engine temperture must reach around 230F before the computer turns them on.

Headlamp wiring

I'm going to start out by saying I don't know. But between the two of us we should be able to figure it out. I don't know how the wires are coming out of the new plug.
On the truck, the left headlight harness is white green, red black, and green black. White green is power, red black is the ground for the high beam, and green black is ground for the low beam.
On the right side, dark blue light green is power, and the other two are the same color as the left side.
If you look at the right side and figure out which terminal on the headlight the dark blue light green wire goes to, that is the same terminal you use on the left side for power. Then the other two wires are the same for both sides.
I can post a wiring diagram if you think it will help.

Location of engine coolant temperature sensor

Automobiles: 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 4-cylinder 2.0L MFI DOHC

NOTE
The "left" side of the engine is the driver's side.

The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is a thermistor (a device which changes resistance or voltage as temperature changes). The sensor detects the temperature of engine coolant and provides a corresponding signal to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module - aka "the car's computer").

The ECT sensor is mounted in the following locations (small Ford engines):

1.8L engines: in the cylinder head
1.9L engines: threaded into the heater hose inlet pipe
2.0L engines: at the left rear of the engine

2.0L Zetec Engine

(1) Partially drain the engine cooling system using a clean container. If coolant is in good condition, retain for reuse.
(2) Disconnect the battery ground cable.
(3) Disconnect the electrical wiring connector from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.
(4) Remove the retaining clip and the ECT sensor.

12_5_2011_5_38_05_pm.jpg

Fig. 1 Escort ZX2 ECT sensor - The retaining clip is removed (at the solid arrow). Withdraw ECT sensor by gently wiggling/pulling in the direction of the dashed arrow.

To install:

NOTE
Coat the ECT sensor O-ring with clean coolant prior to installation.

(1) Replace the retaining clip and the ECT sensor.
(2) Connect the electrical wiring connector from the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
(3) Connect the battery ground cable.
(4) Refill the engine cooling system. An inexpensive plastic "Radiator Funnel" will help with this task.

I have a f350 crew cab 1997 5.8 and while drivin and after take off the truck loses power and shakes then stops seems like only when accelerating this happens.

Hello! There are two sensors that will cause this problem both can be tested...If you have a volt meter...If not, let me know...
#1 is the Throttle Positioning Sensor (TPS)...A black round device that is bolted to the throttle body with a three wire connector...Wire colors are...Gray/White...Brown/White...And Gray/Red...Using two safety pins plug them into the rear of the in place connector on the Gray/White...And Brown/White...Place + probe of meter set to read 5 volts on the Gray/White...And - probe on Brown/White...Start engine...At idle must read less than 1 volt (.85)...As you slowly increase throttle meter must rise smoothly to 4 volts at open throttle...If voltage jumps or acts erratic the sensor is defective...

#2 is the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor...Also mounted to throttle body...Three wire connector with the following wire colors...Light Green/Blue...Gray/Red...And Brown/White...Using the same technique...Pin the rear of the connector on the Light Green/Blue...And the Brown/White...Place + probe on Light Green/Blue and - probe on Brown/White...Turn key to on (don't start)...Record reading...Move Light Green/Blue probe with safety pin and push it into the Gray/Red wire...Record reading....Also check the vacuum line which is connected to the Map Send results...

Cost...TPS=$55............MAP=$95

I want to know where the Coolant Temp sensor is on a 04 2.4 PT

the engine coolant temp sensor is in the assembly that the pressure cap (radiator cap) goes on. it's under the part that the cap goes on, closer to the engine block. you can see the wires and the plug going to it. here's the remove and replace step by step:
1. disconnect battery negative terminal (they always tell you to do that when you work on electrical parts)
2.partially drain cooling system below level of ect sensor
3.disconnect ect sensor
4.remove ect sensor
and to reinstall
1.install ect sensor torque to 168 in-lbs
2.connect sensor electrical connector
3.connect battery negative terminal
4.refill system with coolant
hope that helps
