I have a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse. Had variable timing solenoid installed. Then battery appeared to be completely drained. Installed new battery. A day later battery completely drained again.

After installing solenoid and new battery car seemed to be in an anti theft mode? Could not figure out how to get out of anti theft mode. So in the process of attempting to disable that is when the brand new battery was drained.

Had variable timing solenoid installed - Don't think that has anything to do with the battery draining . You have a parasitic draw on the battery . Do you know how to test automotive electrical circuit's ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YE6v4ryk24g

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.

SOURCE: Battery light goes on

Check the charging system your alternator may be going bad or nOT charging fully. when vehicle is off the voltage at battery terminals should be at least 12volts and when vehicle is running at idle at least 14 volts. If this is NOT so when vehicle is off then battery is BAD. If NOt so when vehicle is running then BAD alternator. Also check battery terminals and make sure they are tightly secured and NO corrosion on terminals. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

SOURCE: car will not start

You probably can't.
If the anti-theft module is in the cluster, you would need the correct key chip for the car the cluster came out of.
You might be able to bypass the passkey system by running a wire to the fuel pump relay and other components.
You may need a shop manual to find the circuits.

SOURCE: How do I disable the anti-theft system?

First hooking a battery up backwards can damage computers and the alternator. The battery for your car is opposite of every other battery on the market. Some thing to think about. So with that. Start the car, remove the positive post from the battery. If the car dies, replace the alternator. The security system will not drain a battery every two or three days with the car being driven two or three times a day. Especially a new battery.

Where is the camshaft position actuator solenoid located on a 2010 Chevy Traverse 3.6 l

Start by removing the Battery Negative Cable, as its an Electrical component, and will also clear the check engine light at the same time, after replacement of the Actuator.
OK its really looking at you at the middle right side below the Engine Plastic Cover between the two corrugated cable wires. One 10mm Bolt, then UN plug the electric from the old Actuator, lubricate the O-ring of the new and may be a bit of dielectric grease on the electrical connection holes of the plug, and re install the new... its an easy task. What causes a 2011 traverse alarm and loss of power?

Need more information. When does it do this? At start up? When it warms up? What time of day and what weather conditions? This could be anything from a bad ground to you putting aftermarket parts on like a fancy radio or alarm. Is the vehicle AWD or 4WD? Make sure you really pay attention to what is going on and with a little more information I can help you out.

2011 Chevy traverse... 10,000 miles. Piston blew and they say we need a brand new engine? How does this happen? It's brand new! Only had it 8 months. Do we have rights....lemon law something?

Hi Amy! I have the same problem! My engine failed, because the oil filter gasket came loose, and fell into the piston. Needless to say, the whole engine became clogged. They replaced my 2011 Traverse's engine with a new one, but now it has a hard time starting. I'm picking it up tomorrow, hopefully for the last time. If it's the same problem, I will contact a Lemon Law type Attorney. Any feedback? thanks!
