2005 Dodge Dakota alarm and key pad trouble

The alarm on my 2005 Dodge Dakota goes off every time I open the door with my key. How do I manually shut off my alarm? Also, I replaced the batteries in both my electronic key pads and they still don't work. Do I have an electrical problem?

No i do not think you have electrical problem, try this.

Car in Park
Key on
push and hold unlock on good remote for 5 to 10 seconds
while holding unlock, press and hold panic, then release together
Listen for chime
press and release any button on all remote to be programmed.

If this will not work you need to bring the Vin# and remote to a dealer for reprogramming.

2004 Stratus alarm problems, when opening door

On most cars you can disarm the system by locking AND unlocking the drivers door with the key. Check your owners manual if you have one.

Keyfob on my 05 dakota quad was working intermittantly then stopped altogether. I replaced the battery and it still does nothing. My truck is locked and I know the alarm will sound if i just use the key to...

The alarm should turn off when you put the key into the ignition.

Also, check to make sure that the metal circle that you put the battery in is not loose. It should not wiggle much at all. If it does wiggle, it will need to be re-soldered onto the fob's electrical board.

Hope this helps!
