I did mention that this was a 1998 altima not a 2002. For some reason it was printed as a 2002 but I guess that doesnt matter. I have a feeling you are right about the computer. Before this happened when I turned the car off to get fuel and clicked the remote to turn the car on, the computer kept making a clicking noise for such a long time. I disconnected the battery to rest it and then it started. about a week later my battery died then the altenator went. I spent so much money already and now the #4 injector is flooded. It was changed and then it happened again. Getting frustrated. I dont know much about cars and this is driving me crazy!

I just wanted to give you an update of my Nissan Altima 1998.The merchanic said that the hose that goes to the airconditioner was clogged and it leaked into my computer. He put the car on the lift and about 2 gallons of water came out. It took a good week for the computer to dry out. I am not sure of all the techincal details but that is what happened and in case someone else has the same problem maybe they will remember what happened to my car. My merchanic didnt even charge me because we had already put money into trying to fix it. They are great merchanics. Thanks again for all your advice!

Have a 2004 nissan altima plugs getting wet with gas take them out and dry car starts but same problem after 5 6 hrs won't start again what's the problem

Your engine is flooding with fuel which is why you have wet plugs and why you are having problems starting the car. A flooded engine will not start.

It sounds like a recurring flooding problem rather than a one off and the injectors may be leaking. One way or another too much fuel is being delivered by the injectors.

Get the car into Nissan Service and have them check it over and identify the cause.
Here is some information on the flooding problem prepared by a professional master mechanic.

1998 altima runs fine idol hesitates &sputters under load

You may have a check engine light on which would require you to have the computer scanned for trouble codes. The codes would help direct you or a mechanic on what to test.
A cylinder miss could be ignition, fuel, or something mechanical.

1998 Nissan Altima

The clicking sounds like a low battery. Either that or the relay on your remote start is bad. A bad battery can damage your alternator after continued use. It could also be a failing starter. Your husband disconnected your battery and it started? What did it start from?

1998 nissian altima engine floods at random

gosh, nissan spent 6 million dollars replacing faulty/leaking fuel injectors around that time ...maybe its worth a trip down to the dealer and do a campaign/recall search on your car...might be a car that was covered under that campaign and you might get injectors covered
