P0102 Code on 98 Chevy 2500 van

I have a 98 Chevy 2500 work van. Yesterday it began idling very high, drove it for a little while and it lost all power and died. Towed it home, got a computer and the p0102 code came on. Checked all the vacuum hoses, replaced the maf? Still is idling high? It has the 4.3 L V6 in it. We actually had bad storms this weekend so I thought something got wet, but this is the first time the check engine light has been on since i've owned this van. No ideas, need help.

Check to see if the pink wire on the mass air flow connector has voltage with key on.It come's from fuse #15 inthe under hood power box. Also called eng 1 fuse.If voltage is present try the old trick of using carb cleaner to see if you have a vacuum leak.that will also cause a high idle oon fuel injected veh.If you can't find anything ther your going to need to see your mechanic to trace the trouble tree down for that code. There is a long process for that code. Good luck.

I would have codes checked for MIL. It sounds like it could have a bad Torque Converter Clutch solenoid. If thats the case when they put the code scanner on it it should throw a TCC sol. code. Autozone and O'Reilys will check codes free of charge.

Error codes P0507 and P0102 after replacing MAF sensor

P0102: you need to make sure the sensor is clean; sometimes it get dirty as you are working on an old car. Check the voltage manually. Make sure there is no air leak near it

P0507: high idle... this sounds like a vacuum leak. get starter fluid and start the car. Spray around and check for change in car idle

Sounds like the Mass Air-Flow Sensor may be toast. I think you are on the right track. My scanner does not see MAF either. good luck.

sounds about right. you can try cleaning it with maf sensor cleaner first. if that doesnt work then replace it. do not touch the element with anything but the cleaner.

you may have broke a gasket 0n the manifold and you now have a vacuum leak explaining the high idle. also check the iac sensor it may be stock partly open or sticking
