NO. you may need a "temperature door actuator" thats a problem when the service people call it one thing and the parts people call it another. The first dealership should have given you a written quote, that way you would have part numbers, ect.
The ac maybe trying to lock up,if it effects the engine performance at ,lets say a 45 mile a hour run, then the ac compressor maybe trying to lock up,if it does not ,then it is a idle problem with the ac turned on,the computer is not idling up with the ac turned on.
If the line freezes up, where ever the frost is is where the restriction inside the line is. Next time you run the a/c and line freezes up put a hot rag on it and watch the a/c start to work as the ice melts.
Unless your a certified HVAC tech or equivalant I recommed you bring the behicle to a repair shop.
Dealing with refrigerants is dangerous and illegal if your not certified to do so.
You have to recover the refrigerant and then pull a vacuum, before you can open up the line and remove the obstruction( which is probably gonna be some type of metering valve that is clogged up). After you remove the obstruction and reconnect the line you have to pull a vacuum to check for leaks., then recharge the system.
Same problem on 06 Chevy equinox lt, Dealer said sunroof needed to get adjusted, its raining right now in San Diego and now the car wont start. water is in the same places, under the dash and floor mats. there is a bulletin posted for these cars about water leaking through several places, copy and paste the numbers along with the sign onto Google and its the first post. its a water leak guide for GM dealerships on the Equinox. hope it helps.
not likely anything wrong with ur condensor unless they did some damage to it or the car was in accident & besides the only thing wrong with it could be it leaking at lines which just need new o ring i would go else where
