Dash lights dont come on, and all other ones dont light either, center console lights work, fuse os ok, dimmer switch isok, are there fuses anywhere besides rt side of dash? cant see to drive at night
My dash lights, console lights, and left taillights all went out at once...
The wiring harness that runs from the fuse box above the driver side wheel well into the cab melted and grounded out. Had to take off the plastic wheel well cover, cut and rewire all of the ground wires. Works fine now. Still puzzled why no fuses blew.
Review this information about Instrument Cluster Service Procedures: ZJ-Secc-8E-Instrument-Cluster-and-Gauges (Page 8E-5 and next).
Good luck, and remember rated this help.
The parking and tail lights are usually on the same fuse as the dash lights so if the outside lights are working it sounds like the instrument dimmer control has failed. The electronic bits inside the control for these lights sometimes go faulty. A temporary fix is to remove the wiring plug that attaches to the back of the dimmer control and put a jumper wire across the terminals. If dash lights then work then replace dimmer control.
