1999 Subaru Legacy Outback 5th gear popping out

all 5spd from legacy legacy gt outback will fit from 96-2002 they have same gear ratio you will have to change over mounts and speed sensor

sounds like a fork problem, it won't budge probably

the speedometer/odometer problem sounds like the vehicle speed sensor, which is ususally found on your front wheels, the stalling out sounds like an unrelated problem, but i couldnt tell you where to start for that one

I would suspect a mount. Either motor or trans. Also check lateral mount on top of motor to firewall. Good luck and have a great day.

IF GEAR SHIFT SHAKES THEN THE TRANSMISSION MOUNTS COULD BE BAD. HOPE THIS HELPS. GOOD LUCK

cheak your fluid level in your transmission as if it is low it wont go into gear properly you will move it from park or neutral to a gear it can take a while before it will kick into gear if you top up the fluid that should fix the problem if it still does it after this take it to a tranmission specalist and have it serviced as the bands may be streched

ok maybe it needs adjustments or it may need some trans repairs

like most maual trans u need 80-90w thats what i use in all my vehicles you can also ask any auto parts store they can look it up on their computers

any check engine code?

low trasmission pressure try changing the oil normally worst when cold check oil level cheers pierre
