This is most likely due to a bad solenoid pack in transmission. You could have tranny serviced and see if it helps. Poor fluid condition makes valves stick in those.

I got a 2005 pontiac vibe cant not get no one to know how to fix it. Pressure Control Solenoid code p2716 keep poping up when i get it looked at . I want to know if i can get info on where to buy it. ...

If no one has been able to find the issue with this.It is possible that the pcm may be having an issue of sorts and may need replaced. There are a few tests that should be run prior to condemning the vehicles computer. Info yyou would like the testing info let me know but fully capable a scan tool is required for a portion of testing.

Circuit Description
The throttle pressure that is applied to the primary regulator valve modulates the line pressure causing the line pressure solenoid valve to precisely modulate and create line pressure according to throttle position or engine load. This modulation action controls the line pressure which in turn provides smoother shifts between gears.
When the powertrain control module (PCM) receives the throttle position opening angle, the PCM controls the line pressure by sending a predetermined duty cycle to the solenoid valve.
The line pressure solenoid valve controls the transaxle line pressure for smooth transaxle operation based on signals from the throttle position (TP) sensor and the vehicle speed sensor (VSS).
When the PCM detects a continuous open or short to ground in the line pressure solenoid circuit, then DTC P2716 sets.
DTC P2716 is a type B DTC.
DTC DescriptorThis diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC P2716 Line Pressure Control Solenoid
Conditions for Running the DTCPCM detects a open or short to ground in line pressure solenoid circuit.
Conditions for Setting the DTCDTC P2716 sets when either of the following conditions occurs:
• The PCM detects an open in the solenoid circuit. • The PCM detects an short to ground in the solenoid circuit. Action Taken When the DTC Sets • At the time of the first failure, the PCM records the operating conditions when the Conditions for Setting the DTC are met. The PCM stores this information as a Failure Record. • The PCM illuminates the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) during the first consecutive failure in which the Conditions for Setting the DTC are met. • The PCM turns OFF power to the solenoid. • The PCM stores DTC P2716 in PCM history. Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC • A scan tool can clear the MIL/DTC. • The PCM clears the DTC from PCM history if the vehicle completes 40 warm-up cycles without an emission related diagnostic fault occurring.

Code P2716. car seems to shift fine. it is a 2006

This code is for the pressure control solenoid located in the valve body of the transmission. I recommend getting this solenoid replaced and the wiring harness leading from the outside of the transmission to the valve body inspected for signs of transmission fluid leaking into connection of harness as this will cause issues too. Ignoring this code can lead to poor trans shifting and possible engine stalls.

P2716 Pontiac Vibe error code

This is a "pressure control solenoid" code. It is related to the transmission and can mean a couple things. It could need the solenoid replaced, which is quite expensive. The other is a possible PCM failure. This has been quite common thing with the Vibe, the Corolla and the Matrix. They all have the same drivetrain. Pontiac has a service bulletin related to this #41554A. I would recommend calling the dealership and if it is under warrantee it should be covered 100%. Good Luck.

Pressure Control Solenoid P2716

have the code checked especially if the car is out of warranty. If it is still under warranty take the car to the dealership . The Pressure Control Solenoid determines the quality and accuracy of the shift points and if you let it go the transmission will not shift properly after a period of time. The pressure control solenoid is used by the PCM to raise the mainline hydraulic pressure during high throttle - this increases the holding force on the clutches and bands and prevents slipping. The pressure control solenoid is controlled by pulses from the PCM and this in turn operates the boost valve insde the valve body.

The problem could be either in the PCM or it could be an electrical problem with the solenoid. As suggested it should be diagnosed by a transmission tech. They can check if the PCM is good by looking at the pulses with an oscilloscope at the connector and they should also be able to test the continuity of the solenoid. If the solenoid is faulty the valve body will need to be removed and the solenoid replaced.
good luck

Pressure Control Solenoid "D" Electrical

You need to take it to a reputable repair facility. The pressure control solenoid needs to be checked for proper operation. If the solenoid is operating properly, the PCM (Powertrain Control Module[computer]) will need to be replaced. If you continue to drive the vehicle with this condition the transmission will eventually destroy itself.
