99 f250 v10 auto 4x4-cat converter imploded,

The fuel pressure sounds too low. Is it multi-port injection? Check the fuel pressure against your specs for the car and engine. MPFI systems usually require 40-50 psi.

If truck sets for a few days, I have to pump the gas pedal for a long time before it starts V10 engine. Just started this problem.

You have a fuel injection system on your vehicle. pumping the pedal doesn't do any thing except open the throttle until the engine starts. If you have not replaced the fuel filter for a long time, replace it. this will not fix your problem, but it will help. Your problem sounds like the check valve in the fuel tank sending unit is letting you fuel drain back to the tank. this is why it takes time to start the engine. It is not a part that you can buy by itself, part of the unit. costly to replace. what you can do to make sure this is the problem, is when it sets a few days and your sure it will take time to start, try turning the key on wait a couple of seconds turn it off then back on. do this 2,3,4 times. what this does is pressure up the system and the truck should start alot faster. remember replace the fuel filter as this may be clogging up. It will give you the pressure you need , but not the flow of fuel. Plus it saves on wear and tear of the fuel pump.
