Why does A/C cut off at 4000 rpms or higher and doesn’t cut back on until the vehicle has been turned off and restarted?

Had the ac discharge hose replaced. Acura diagnosed the problem. I’m at a loss. It’s hot. I have kids and don’t have $90-$130 just for a diagnostic test again.

On the 02 sebring when the cooling fan or i turn on the air the car idles(rpm) high then back down then stalls out if i dont hit the gas to steady the rpms

run the fault codes as the ecm should compensate for the extra load on the engine when the ac compressor cuts in
there will be a rpm drop of around 150 rpms when it cuts in then it should settle back to normal rpms and when the ac cuts out the rpms will go up and the settle back to normal
anything else indicates a sensor fault.

My 2002 dodge durango hits 4000 RPMs and bounces between 3000 and 4000 RPMs when I am in park and have the throttle held down. I replaced the cam sensor and it is still doing it.

this is your rev limiter stopping you from over reving engine causing internal damage. this is normal on all new vehicles. Don't know what year they started this but it goes back at least 16 yrs

My ac compressor is not workin well

You need to have your pressues check at lower rpms it sounds like your a/c compressor doesn't have enough of a charge to remove the heat from the air but at higher rpms it can because higher rpms means higher flow and higher pressure.

Van runs fine ....until 4000 rpms or higher, then rough

Not given much to go on but first thing to check is the air filter , don't know your abilities but filter is in black plastic canister just to the driver's side of center under hood has black flip lever clamp in center and I usually have to loosen a hose clamp to get apart. depending where you drive this could get clogged in as little as 30,000 miles. the hoses connecting it to engine are about 3" in diameter. The filter is cone shaped and collects dirt on the inside.

2001 Ford Escape - Bucking Engine

You need to tow this car to a service station almost immediatly, depending on what exactly is wrong you could be further damaging the vehicle. With the description you give it could be a whole mess of things but i would start with your fuel system. Have your fuel pump looked at and your injectors as well. this could also be as simple as a bad batch of gas/ water in the gas but it would not really explain why the problem ocours at higher rpms like that. Hope this helps
