We are human.

See the link below. Sounds like a tranny sensor problem. http://www.carproblemzoo.com/suzuki/forenza/transmission-sensor-problems.php

SOURCE: I have a 2004 X Type Jaguar, The problem is:

Hi.

This is a common issue with the Jaguar X-type and the S-type too.

If you are parked on an incline the vehicle can get stuck in park.

You will need to rock the car back and forth while someone disengages park, so when you park on any type of incline, apply the handbrake first, before you select park.

Hope I have been of help.

Good Luck !

John.

SOURCE: car will not shift into gear

Sounds like a linkage/cable to me. Disconnect the linkage at the transmission and move the shift actuator by hand to see if there is the same things happening. Don't try to do this with the engine running unless someone is holding the brake inside the car.

How do I check the transmission fluid?

there is no dipstick for the forenza auto tranny. it is checked like a manual tranny. you have to remove the fill plug and add some until it drizzles out. also it uses a special fluid that you can only get at the dealer...... And it also uses a special tool to do it with. normally, you have to take it to a professional to check it but if you want to do it yourself, this is how you go about it
The plug is behind the lower transmission mount, I removed my 3 bolts for the mount to get a better view, anyway you either need to jack the car up high or use a lift, I grinded a 3/8 extension to make the tool to remove it. You must have the car running and warmed up to check it, shift thru the gears, then put it back into park, remove the plug (while running) and fill to it comes out, then put the plug back in (still running), and you should be good. Make sure you use the correct transmission fluid. This really is a pain in the ****, however you have no other option other than taking into a dealership.

We had the radiator relplace and antifreeze is still leaking on the back side of the engine. They told him it was going to cost another hundred dollars to take a look at the leak. I see three hoses leading...

Sounds like the leak's in the hose from the engine to the heater core - radiator uninvolved.
the hoses from rad are (2) upper & lower hose to/from engine, and 2 smaller hoses to/from the
transmission, to cool the tranny fluid.
I found a de-install/ install guide (with pics) for the 2004 Suzi Forenza at:

I have a 2006 Suzuki Forenza that is stuck in park. I can get it out of park to reverse but it takes awhile. No one can say whats wrong with it but so far it could be the stop light switch, reverse...

Most common reason is that your ignition switch is too fussy. Spray some WD-40 on the key and then insert it and turn it on. Repeat a few times if necessary. J.
