Pressure loss may be at fuel lines or injectors (could be very minor to take all night to lose pressure). Would have thought pump, but you replaced it. Have you checked the fuel pressure? It would be interesting to see how long it would take to build up in a morning start.

Saturn won t start

3 things keep a motor from starting.1. NO SPARK, 2. NO FUEL,. 3 ENGINE DAMAGE. I SUSPECT IT IS THE IGN MODULE WHICH IS INSIDE THE DISTRIBUTER. cHECK TO SEE IF IT HAS SPARK.. iF IT DOES THE IGN MODULE IS NOT THE PROBLEM. iF IT DOES HAVE SPARK CHECK TO SEE IF IT IS PUMPING FUEL.. DO THIS BY SQUIRTING A LITTLE FUEL INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD THROUGH THE INTAKE AIR HOSE RIGHT BEFORE IT CONNECTS WITH THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. .. iF THE MOTOR FIRES AND TRYS TO RUN YOU KNOW FUEL IS THE PROBLEM. IN WHICH CASE IT COULD BE A CLOGGED FUEL FILTER OR A INOPERTIVE FUEL PUMP. iF IT HAS FUEL AND SPARK LOOK FOR A BROKEN OR STRIPPED CAM TIMING BELT. NOT TURNING THE CAM OR CAMS.

Won't start

You must first determine if it is fuel or spark problem. Squirt some starting fluid in carb if it has carb or in fuel intake if newer vehicle. If it even attempts to start you have a fuel problem. To find if it's spark related take out the easiest spark plug put the wire back on it, lay the plug againt a metal part of the engine, and have another person turn the engine and you watch for a spark at the plug gap. If you have spark you have a fuel problem, if no spark you have an ignition problem.

Turns over will not start

do you have spark at spark plugs, have you checked fuel pressure, could spray some carb. cleaner in intake and see if it will run then on carb cleaner but be carefull, if engine backfires could catch on fire so be prepared.

The engine will turn over but will not start, the fuel pump is working

Try squirting some easy start (Brand name- spray available from decent garages) into the air intake and then block the intake with a rag, then turn over the engine, the easy start should ease things along and the rag will restrictair intake causing a greater suction on the petrol pulling more in, If you manageto getthe engine ticking over i advise to rev to about 4000 for a few seconds( you will probably get a huge white smog out of your exhaust but thats fine) and keep revving slightly until normal, another idea would be to check that any fuel lines arent twisted, blocked etc.
Hope this helps.

Engine (Quad-4) turns over, starts momentarily, then quits; this will happen over and over, but it will not continue to run???

Check if all of the plugs are getting spark. You can do that by pulling the high tension wire at the spark plug end and over the engine check if all are getting the blue arc. Check if the fuel filter needs changing. The fuel supply may also not be consistent, check during start up if fuel is being supplied to the lines via the filter or the hose to the engine also after the engine dies. Fuel may just be only at the start up and when idling supply is low or gone.
I am unsure if your year has the fuel pump already, it may be the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump has gone bad.
Try cleaning the intake with carb cleaners just to rule out dirt in the sensors and the manifold. Check for leaks in the vacuum hoses and air duct from the filter to the intake. It may also be the IAC valve or the EGR for the EFI variants, IAC especially if the idling after start up and before dying is rough. It may need cleaning or replacing.
If you still have the carb or it was converted to carb you may need to adjust the fuel and air by moving screws by quarter turns on the carb and taking note of the movements. It could also be the jets for the fuel which may need cleaning. Carb cleaner would do the job but for tough dirt you may have to remove the carb and clean the internals. During cleaning you may inspect the valves and the parts for wear.

I have a 92 lumina and it won't start. But I put a new fuel pump on it. And it still won't start.

How do you know it was a fuel problem ? Pull a spark plug, do you have spark ? If yes, spray carb cleaner into the carb intake, and turn it over, does it start, then stop ?

I have a 2001 ford f-150 turns over just fine just had all the plugs and coil packs replaced the motor just turns over and over and dosent start no check engin light but after trying it several times it...

You can check to see if it is a fuel issue next time remove the air cleaner and shoot a squirt of carb cleaner in the throttle body if it fires right up with it running give it a little gas and squirt sperts of T.B. cleaner into the T.B. to clean any residue. Also if that works throw a bottle of gas treatment in.

CANT FIGURE IT OUT

Is the fuel pump running? Take the gas cap off and put your ear by the filler. Now have someone turn the key to the on position (not all the way to start). You should hear the fuel pump run for about 3 seconds. If you don't hear the pump run, the most likely culprit is the fuel pump itself. Second possibility is the fuel pump relay.
