2005 Dodge Grand Caravan: Power locks noise

2005 Dodge Grand Caravan: I was wondering why the driver side rear door makes a a loud screeching noise when we unlock the doors. It still opens but there is a noise.

The door lock actuator is going bad.

Before you buy a replacement solenoid, trying resetting the BCM (body control module) by removing fuse 19 in the fuse box under the hood. Wait a minute and reinsert the fuse. I had the same problem, bougth a solenoid online and the noise went away. The power to this is provided by the BCM and I think it was modulating the DC until I reset the BCM and then it was steady DC/

Power door lock on driver side has stop working

The problem is most likely the switch/plunger .
You will need to take off the door panel and look inside, with an electrical tester, and see what has failed.
The switch/plungers are quite cheaply made, and fail often.

That sound is going to be your door lock motors wearing out. I would suggest getting them replaced pretty quickly as they will soon stop locking altogether. It's not cheap, but it isn't horribly expensive either.

This is a common issue with the 2005 Caravan. To fix the issue you can disconnecting your battery or disconnect the IOD fuse for 10 - 30 seconds in the fuse box located in the engine compartment. This is not a permant fix. Inorder to get this fixed permantly you need to take it to a dealer so they can update your computer.

Look for contacts at door jamb & door, that mate when closed.( usually round metal piece) Take a piece of fine steel wool & scrub them and see if that cures it.
